Apparently, Bal'ak in the trailer is grey, and Qira's official art is grey-skinned as well.

 

He means most people in game (NPCs) refer to it as a far off dark land. Because they don't have any evidence to suggest otherwise. (is it civilized? Are there cities? Any governments?) By "consider it a province" Grian means we should all consider Dern. A province.

And although this theory has been stated before, it hasn't exactly been proven. The fact that Fruma comes into play really changes things. As we all know, the player comes from Fruma, and "the player" doesn't have any set skin colors. We could easily be meant to have grey skin, and with that, Bob could come from Fruma. Think about it. What's Bob's Dern mom doing in Ragni? Unless she just got a trip from Fruma.

There was one thing that (I think) you got wrong:

The mages over on Mage Island sunk the village, because the AGs were on it and they were in the wrong hands (a pirate). It's so powerful that they had to sink the island to stop anyone from ever finding it.

A possible reason why Dern is described as a "far" off is...

Why is "far" in quotation marks everytime Grian or the Sealed Letters or the lore mentions it? It's what Bob wants you to think. He (might've) sealed the Dern gates and tried to make people forget about it as it is "far" away (when it's just on the other side of the mountains).

This could just be a prolonged effect of the decay on humanoid creatures. The decay is also corruption (as stated in Aldorei's Secret), although not actual corruption, like a shadow of it. The full corruption can corrupt people and turn them into hideous creatures (seen with Amadel), so it isn't that far of a stretch that that is what the decay did to people.

 

Dern is the place where mages go learn there "Blink" Spell, because, you know. the natives are enderman.

 

I know corruption and decay started breaking out at almost the same time, when the Light was beginning to fade. I think it really depends on the area, how this magic disease would effect things. In Wynn, it causes people to go crazy, and make dead things come back to life. Decay physically kills plants, with no effect on people as much (unless is just a Gavelian trait). However, darkness, an apperent 3 sickness from Dern and/or the far, far, dark place causes people to turn dark physically, and possibly go crazy. Amadel was turned into the monster due to the crystals, which, in all honesty, we know almost nothing about (tho tbh, I havent done enough research). Tho, they are quite old, and have been around as long as people have, maybe longer.

True. However people from Fruma (lore wise) look just like the people of Wynn (common assumption of that Wynnic people originate in Fruma). So they would have normal skin tone in Fruma as well.

Hey, just a suggestion. My point is, there are thousands of creatures out there and you shouldn't place everything in three categories: Wynnic, Frumian, Dernish.


Also can I see where it says Frumians look just Wynncraftians? To me, the players are the only real confirmed people from Fruma. Otherwise we shouldn't assume that the people of Wynn come from Fruma. They seem pretty independent to me.

Well Bob got insulted because of his not normal skin. If you did not have wynnic-type skin, someone would have said something to you in the 3ish years you've been in Wynn.

Yeah and 40 years ago people would have also made fun of you if you had "strange" skin. Racism changes. There's a lot of possibilities that play into this. Fruma could have been in political disagreement with Wynn and people just didn't like Frumians. I wouldn't call out someone for their skin either if they had a huge af spear. Plus, everyone knows the saying about assuming.
