God, I miss when Undertale was popular. I know that the Undertale fandom was quite infamous for being obnoxious at its peak, but every fandom of popular media is. I think the amount of fanmade projects surrounding the game, like Undertale the Musical, far outweigh the bad stuff the fandom was known for. A lot of people made friends by talking about the game (myself included) and I think that is why it’s so special.

You missed the point. None of those games have poignant characters or even a story. Except for maybe Touhou because I haven't played it, but either way, Undertale had a greater cultural influence than Touhou

I'd say Fnaf is a fair answer because it was analyzed to death by MatPat and others, but the rest aren't

If you can reference something and 90% of people around you get it, that thing has had a cultural influence.
You can say "I'm mining diamonds" or "I think he vented" and 90% of people around you would get it around the ages of 10-18

 

You're strawmanning me. When did I say that those games didn't have an influence on cultural? All I said was that very few games have the same story and themes as Undertale does. I know I'm starting to sound like a Rick and Morty copypasta user, but I could write an essay about this if I really wanted to

Also, are we getting so distant from Undertale's popularity that people don't get Undertale references anymore? I'm sure most people would get "DETERMINATION" or "you're gonna have a bad time"

 

Ah, I see what you mean.
You are correct in FNAF has a large hidden storyline, but no other game has one because there are very few story oriented games in general.
I'd say Sans is less of an undertale thing and more of an internet thing. That would be like saying xue hua piao piao is a meme related to the artist of the song.
I feel like the only other games with a storyline that have had at least some influence would be hollow knight and subnautica, and subnautica is the only one people really ever reference
