World 3d Weapons Update! /w Names & Lore Galore!

More 3D Weapons!​

Ah, 3D weapon models. Possibly one of the content teams greatest choices to upgrade the immersion experience for Wynncraft. Unlike armour skins, this visual update added in the Gavel expansion has been relatively non-buggy, and just made the item system revamp so much better. Currently, there are 70+ weapon models ingame, ranging from bows to sledgehammers, including the exclusive weapon skins you can find in loot crates. Now, I can understand if that no other weapon skins were added due to a limited amount of vanilla items to retexture, but I think that in terms of 'unique' and 'endgame' there isn't that many choices. So, for the past few days I've been creating a few weapon model concepts on paper. I've made 8 in total, all of them with more than two names for different leveled versions you can find in your adventures - some of them with their own lore. Hope you enjoy!
Also, if this belongs in art then I'll make sure to get it moved.

1. Bo staff/Diafotis/Peace/Sanctimony
sanctimony:
- Originally a training weapon of a Bantisu novice, this staff was enchanted with the whisper of an elder monk, showing those who wield it not power, but a path to mastering all emotion and finding inner tranquility.

Diafotis:
- This staff was once used by a blood berserker who had discovered it during a long and bloody conquest of pillaging and murder. When he attempted to use it to hurt innocents however, the staff became a bolt of light, disintegrating him instantly.


2. Orcish scimitar/Rusty edge/ Malicious/Thirst
Thirst:
- Once the sword of a monster hunter, this blade was badly damaged after a struggle with a vampire lord, and still holds traces of an acidic blood-like substance on it's chipped edge. It would be wise to not hold it close to your neck...

Malicious:
- Even in it's presence, dark thoughts cloud your mind...


3. Polearm/Knight's halberd/The reclaimed
Polearm:
- This simplistic spear may appear to have no enchantments visible, but every warrior who has taken up this halberd swear they have seen their arm melt into the weapon itself.

The reclaimed:
- 500 years ago, a battalion of Wynn soldiers stormed a dark portal on the edge of the ocean. A search party discovered their last known location years later - only to find skeletons, and a black glowing halberd resting in the scorched dirt.


4. Tenderizer/Orcish warhammer/Omen of the Ancients/Thunderstone
Thunderstone:
- In the early years of the Ice Nations civil war, a young Duijgon viking climbed to the top of their snowy island, shouting to the heavens for a way of peace among the clans. He was answered with a lighting storm, and from it came a meteor, revealed to be an ornately carved hammer.

Omen of the Ancients:
- Crafted by the Ancients themselves, the mysterious race chiseled an eye upon the face of this massive stone hammer, hoping it would act as a warning for those who would come across the same beast they were being hunted by. Wynnexcavation discovered the hammer eons later, thinking it to be a gift from the 'Eye' entity they worshipped.

5. Deadeye/Peacekeeper/Lawndart/Ezio/Assassin's crossbow
Deadeye:
- Now, I know there's already an ingame item called Deadeye, just hear me out. This is what I'd imagine deadeye to really be; a small, concealable crossbow or revolver-type weapon that doesn't look or act anything like a giant black-iron bow with a flaming string. *cough*currentweaponmodel*cough*. So essentially, it's a remodel of an original ingame item.

Lawndart:
- Here, catch this!

Ezio:
- kidnapped by a group of cultist assassins, a village blacksmith was forced to repair their damaged equipment, in return for his freedom. Noticing a design flaw in of their knife gauntlets, the craftsman dismantled it, creating a small yet powerful crossbow that enabled him to execute the entire guild in silence.

Peacekeeper:
- Now you can really be the sheriff around these parts.


6. Blade of the Firenze/Inquisition/Silver Sabre/Cure/Gavellian Longsword
Cure:
- Blessed by a priest passing through the Temple of Legends, this sword was destined to be the weapon that slayed the Corrupter of Worlds, and was gifted to a lowly Troms spearsman to do just that. Failing miserably, the sword supposedly disappeared with it's owner - until a travelling merchant noticed a strange glinting blade in the waters of Troms aqueduct, years later...

Gavellian Longsword:
- Given to Gavel military as a standard-grade sword, it's quartz hilt's mystical properties expand depending on the race of magical being who holds it. No human has ever wielded it without accidentally unleashing an extraordinary act of raw magic in combat.

Inquisition:
- Growing determined to step out of his master's shadow, a well-known spellsmith's apprentice attempted to summon an artifact of power from another realm. Accidentally uttering a phrase wrong, the link was flooded by spirits of conquerors long past, who began a rampage across the Kandor forest and beyond. The spellsmith was fortunately able to capture these spirits in an silver blade, which they still reside within to this day.


7. Intertwined/Soulsnare/Bandersnatch/Mischevious
Intertwined:
- Forged on the brightest night of spring solstice, this wand of encircling metal and wood holds a portion of an enchanted blue flame. It was created to appease Lunar, self-proclaimed goddess of the moon, so that her light could be directed into the mortal plane of existence.

Soulsnare:
- During a ritual, a young and arrogant mage made contact with a void imp, supposedly trapped in an immaterial prison. The mage agreed to help him escape, with one condition; that the imp would grant him a portion of his own magical abilities. The imp was freed, and thus repaid his debt by handing him a staff that would capture the soul of anyone who dared looked into the burning eyes at the top of the weapon.

Bandersnatch:
- Found in a cave deep within the forest of light, this slender branch was accompanied by a rambling old man, speaking madness about protecting white rabbits and vorpal swords. When the stick was separated from the decrepit elder, a long line of Wynnic appeared on the bark, translating to a peculiar poem that slips from the mind the moment it is read.


8. Deadly tower blade/Orbit/Arm of the Golemancer/Quake/Pyrgos
Deadly Tower Blade
- Neither axe nor sword, this gigantic tool of destruction holds a curse that renders it impossible to lift. Only those who understand the true nature of war have had the privilege of wielding this towering cleaver into battle.

Orbit (Inspired from lore created by Whimsicality)
- Following the meteor crashes in the province of Gavel, mages began experimenting with the strange rock to further their research in cosmic energy. Carved from the first meteorite itself, this massive stone sword radiates a strange magnetic aura that causes an orbital ring of collected rocks to form around it.

Pyrgos (means 'Tower' in greek)
- This curved stone club was originally a piece of a statue that resided in Ternaves, until a group of savannah bandits raided the horse village and destroyed it. One guard, as a desperate last resort, pulled the club from the crumbled remains of the statue to defend himself. Incredibly, he survived, and chose to wield it into a great siege on the corrupted.

Wowzers this is pretty cool :D I do feel like Wynn needs more variety in skins, while there are a lot with gear skin in all it gets kinds old

 

Thanks! The immersion definitely differs for each person at endgame. I've got some more items nearly ready, so keep an eye on this thread.

 

For the poll why can I choose all of them?

 

I made the poll based on the item models, not the names. If I did the names separately the poll would be massive :/

 

Considering the fact that there is a very low amount of Modelers on the CT, and that the ones that do exist are mostly gone, I don't think this will happen anytime soon. It would be nice, but it's unlikely.

More skins for weapons would be nice, especially weapons that have some form of significance to the story and lore...

Which is what i did for the Hive Infused series, Bob's Mythic series, and the Relic series back with the content contest. The thread's link is here and is currently in the grave. If you wanna use them and credit me i'll be more than happy to comply.

And if there is difficulty reading the wynnic, just count the characters and you'll figure out which is which.

 

I really like these drawings and designs, you have done well on them, I do hope to see them soon. I chose the Intertwined/Soulsnare/Bandersnatch/Mischevious because of its cool Magical Wynncraft style to it, it is like a Legendary Mage weapon of the Gavel or Corkus Province (Even though Corkus isn't technically a province).

Nice drawings but the main reason we only have 80 models is limited space in the rp

We could have tons more space with the item system currently used with the cosmetic skins, we just have to ditch 1.8 and that's going to piss off a chunk of the community with the issues they have playing 1.9.
