Agreed. Wynn just kinda sits there after lv 75 until AJB. It feels especially weird as it is the province that Wynncraft is named after, and for it to not be a centerpiece consistently in the player's adventure feels especially strange.

 

100% agreed. Gavel is cool and all but it's not the same, and the fact that Wynncraft's entire endgame basically takes place in the Sky Islands, Molten Heights, or Silent Expanse is a little weird to me. SE barely even counts as Wynn anyway. Having a reason to go back to Wynn during your travels would be great IMO.

 

Last speculation post before the trailer:

Much like how 2.0 teasers barely mentioned new spells and abilities, I feel like 2.1 is also gonna have something that hasn't been shown in any of the teasers at all.

 

I always found it jarring how the RoW/Nether never got a payoff despite it literally being the source of conflict in the game (especially b4 Gavel). It didn’t help that the few uses it did have got removed like PvP and Garoth’s quest.

Imagine in the third act of Lord of the Rings, the crew completely forgets about Sauron and his army of orcs and goes off to a completely different continent to fight an evil that’s only *figuratively* related to Sauron at best. That’s basically Wynncraft in a nutshell.

Also, I just realized that since the Portal got reworked, the Temple of Legends quest might’ve been changed or reworked too.

 

In the new teaser image, it looks like Jorkin’s house is still there so that makes me unsure. But who knows, maybe he finally found his way out of there. It would be cool if his little house there in the roots was moved somewhere else, but you could go to the roots and see some remains of the house that used to be there as a fun little easter egg.

 

oh yeah I think TOL is probably gonna be reworked at some point, wynnexcavation too, I would love to see Ragnar in a TOL rework

 

Yes, I think 2.1 will be the Ocean Update. Think about it. We get a free Kiwi pet for watching the trailer. Where do kiwis live? New Zealand. And where is New Zealand? In the middle of the Ocean. Sheep! Open your minds to the truth

The only bit of Corruption in SE is beneath Lutho, and while your idea of it being "below" is close, its definitely not "below the physical plane". It is, however, below the entirety of the Wynn Province. When you see corruption spikes emerging from the earth, theyre not just randomly there, theres a whole intricate network that all leads back to the portal; hence the name "the roots".

 

So the corruption spikes trace back to the portal. Got it and thanks for the info.

What I actually had in mind though was that the realm of war (which I confused with corruption) is "below" the physical plane and "breaks through".
In my imagination this was like in Stranger Things where the two worlds collide and one crosses over into the other. Would be a cool idea I think

But now (after having watched the trailer) I recognize that the update is very different than I assumed. I'm very much looking forward to it!

 

Corruption is the influence of The Realm of War, just as Darkness is the influence of The Realm of Dern.

 

I just realized… Weren’t there zero NPCs in the trailer? Like no Villagers, Humans, etc?

Is it entirely possible that NPCs could get custom models too? Like the notable characters such as Bak’al or Ava get more 3-dimensional detail that shows what they are better than a player model can? Or simpler things like Dwarves being slightly shorter than the player and Doguns being closer to that one promo image leading to Gavel’s release?

 

probably not in this update but i would be suprised if they didn't do it in the future, heck their probably planning to

As per the tweet this morning, instead of a 7 wide and 6 down bank, we got a 9 wide and 5 down bank. Which gives 3 more spaces per page.

I only ask, how will our banks be shifted to accommodate? Cause I got a mostly clean system that’s been working pretty good for 7+ years or whenever they added the page system and I wanna know what kind of mess to anticipate

 

They stated in a reply that some items will be moved around a little, but not to new pages.
