THIS THREAD CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR 2.0. IF YOU WISH TO REMAIN SPOILER-FREE, THEN CLICK OFF OF THIS THREAD.

2.0 has definitely improved a lot of quests. However, there are two quests in particular that I am not a huge fan of how they reworked them, being General's Orders, and Hunger of the Gerts Part II, and while General's Orders is purely because of one part, Hunger of the Gerts has several things wrong with it.

So before I go about the reasons why the 2.0 HotG is bad, I first must congratulate DrBracewell (won't ping bc section rules) for making a poorly-aged quest pretty great. The intro is somewhat unchanged, where you talk to Cikal then Jitak, the intro tunnel section was improved, but pretty much everything after this got changed. What happens next is that you will go to a Gerten Pumpkin Farm, with a Gert Guard doing his job. While I'm not really a huge fan of dialogue guessing games (and that its not entirely mandatory to the quest), the Guard's dialogue is pretty nice. You then have a very unique section of the quest, where you carve out a pumpkin into a face. You are forced to wear the pumpkin, but I'm not too sure if you have to wear it for the rest of the quest, so meh. You then return to Jitak, and then you go through a tunnel, forcing you to kill an animal every 10 seconds to avoid getting caught. I really like that, as you are meant to be kept on your toes the whole segment, and then you listen on to the most enlightening dialogue said, which is...

[4/i forgor :skull:] Gylia Watchman: uwu owo

and then you go to the chief to tell him about the whole thing.

So now that we got the context of the current 2.0 version out of the way, the current upcoming version is VERY lackluster. The quest starts at the Gerten Camp, you listen in on the Gerts preparing, and then you go to the Gylia Watchtower, and then Cikal tells you you're stupid, but Winie (the pooh) tells you you're not stupid and actually big brain there because everyone else is in the negative iqs. You then evacuate some Gylia Watchmen, the first one is through placing food on the ground, which I'm fine with, but then we have dialogue guessing game 2, because why not. You then try to unlock the basement, you fail, then you find a tunnel, go through that which is sparsely populated with 2 very quick minibosses, collapse the entrance, go back to the watchtower, and the quest is done.

If you were not bothered to read the wall of text, then basically just compare it in size to the above paragraph. It is noticeably smaller.

So, why is this quest not good? Well, @Samsam101 made a pretty good thread showing why it isn't which I'll link here: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-hunger-of-gerts-rework-criticism.301178/

But pretty much the main stuff:
    - Too short
    - Lacks a satisfying conclusion
    - Barely any uniqueness

So, here's my reworked version of the quest. The new stuff is underlined, and if a whole stage is underlined, then that stage is new to the quest. So without further ado...
Hunger of the Gerts Part II
    + 930,000 XP
    + Gerten Ritual Mask
    + 1 LE

Stage 1 - Find out what's happening at the Gerten Camp at [-33, 34, -5502]
Gerten Chief Lobo: Gert! Gert! Prepare war we are!
    Gerten Chief Lobo: Look me.
Gerten Chief Lobo: Today we attack. Today Gerts will take down idiot Villagers!
Gerten Chief Lobo: But first! We eat little food!
Gerten Chief Lobo: Take axe after eat little food! WE TAKE BACK FOOD! WE STRONGER THAN IDIOT VILLAGER!!!!
    Gerts: Yah!
This is getting bad... You should warn the Gylia Watch about this.

Stage 2 - Head to the Gylia Watch at [-19, 36, -5425] to warn them about the Gerten Attack
    Cikal: You again?
Cikal: This is a very... inconvenient timing for me, you see.
Cikal: Game night is starting soon. State your issue fast, please.
Cikal: The Gerts attacking us? HAH! Funny joke.
Cikal: Those pea-brains are too weak-willed to even fight without bickering amongst themselves for food. If they took down our mighty fine watch then... heheh... then the world will be turned upside-down!
Cikal: Now, if you would excuse me, game night is starting, I am needed.
    ???: Psst! Come here, traveler.

Stage 3 - Talk to the person who wanted your attention at [-14, 36, -5410]
Winie: I want to start off by apologizing for Cikal’s behavior.
Winie: Since I recently started working here, the Gerts seemed more and more tense by the day. Them starting an assault on this tower would not be that shocking if it actually happened, and well... turns out I was right.
Winie: What’s even weirder, however, is that everyone else here doesn’t even believe that’s a possibility, almost as if their brains were scrambled...
Winie: I seem to be the only one with any sense left!
Winie: When I brought up how wrong it was for us to steal their food rations, they just laughed at me like I was crazy.
Winie: And now, their beliefs will be turned upside-down today. It doesn’t seem like the Gerts are waiting to attack now. So, can I ask you a favor?
Winie: I will head to Cinfras to report this to higher-ups. Meanwhile, I want you to evacuate the guards here. It might be hard for them to do so, but I don’t believe they stole that food just to aggravate the Gerts.
Winie: Moreso, given everyone else’s personality here, you might need to use more... enticing offers to them.
Winie: They may be selfish jerks, but that’s no excuse to leave them behind.
Winie: ...I hear the Gerts getting ready to attack. You’ll only have 5 minutes to evacuate everyone before they go on the offense. Best of luck to you.

Stage 4 - Evacuate the Gylia Watchmen
All the sections where you evacuate the watchmen will be condensed into one stage, and you will only have 5 minutes to evacuate all of them, to give a feeling of urgency. There will also be one more task added, and there will also be a way to speed up the process too.

    Food Stand
There seems to be a whole bunch of food here... Perhaps you can use it to lure the Gylia Guards out?

There will be Meat, Fruit, and Cake at the Food Stand. You can carry multiple at once.

    Courtyard
This section remains the same as it was.
    Alie: Huh?
Alie: Right... You are that crazy adventurer Cikal talked about...
Alie: If you don't have any meat you can "hand" into the watch, please leave.
Alie: I promise we take good care of the food here.

[Put Colry dialogue here i didnt see it]

To lure Alie and Colry out, put the 5 pieces of meat on the shining green circles.

    Second Floor
    Bory: Yes?
    Bory: Oh, it's... you.
    Bory: What could you want?

    • [1] You need to leave right away!
      • Bory: Huh?
      • Bory: Why are you yelling at me?
      • Bory: And no shot I'm leaving today! We are having our daily game night tonight!
        • [1] Daily...?
          • Bory: Yes. Indeed. Meaning, I'm very busy.
          • Bory: Every day is a party here. But you. Are. Not. Invited!
          • Bory seems to be annoyed by your statement. Maybe you can retry?
        • [2] Your life is in danger.
          • Bory: We here at the Gylia Watch are ready to give up our lives!
          • Bory: Except on Saturdays!
          • Bory: Now, if you'll excuse me, I have business to attend to.
          • That strategy lead you nowhere. Maybe you can retry?
    • [2] What are you up to?
      • Bory: I'm just patrolling. Someone has to look at the mountains for signs of an ambush.
      • Bory: Well... even though I doubt Gerts can climb...
      • Bory: The details aren't that important. I am doing my job, anyway.
      • Bory: Was there anything else?
        • [1] Thank you for protecting us.
          • Bory: Oh...
          • Bory: You are very welcome.
          • Bory: I appreciate your comment!
          • Bory: So what's on your mind?
            • [1] I overheard the Gerts... They will be attacking.
              • [Didn't see this Bory dialogue, if you have it put it in the replies]
            • [2] Do you want to go have a snack?
              • Bory: I can never say no to a snack!
              • Bory: What are you thinking?
                • [1] Let's head outside the watch.
                  • Bory: Ooh! It sounds like you've prepared a whole feast out there!
                  • Bory: Alright, deal!
                  • Bory: I'll head outside and wait for you.
        • [2] Yeah, Gerts definitely don't climb or fly.
          • Bory: I knew that!
          • That strategy did not work. Maybe you can retry?
    • [3] You want this bowl of fruit? (Only available if you have the Fruit in your inventory)
      • Bory: ...Fruit?! How’d you guess? I love fruit!
      • Bory: You say there’s more outside the watchtower? Wow, it sounds like you have some great meat and cake too!
    Basement
The basement door is locked tightly. Perhaps you can open it with a few spells?

(You need to cast 3 spells to open the basement door).

    Without Cake:
Cikal: ...Haha, read ‘em and weep boy- WHAT THE- !? HOW?!
Cikal: That door was locked shut! How did you pry it open like that?!
Cikal: ...Listen kid, I have more pressing manners to get to, so you better have a good reason to barge in like this.
Cikal: And I told you, the Gerts don’t have the knowhow to even attack this place! Let me play our Maexes Hold’em in peace, okay?! OUT!
Cikal: And don’t you dare come back without cake!

    With Cake:
Cikal: Dang it, Johnston! You- ... How did you get through the lock?!
Cikal: Wait, is that... Ohoho! CAKE! Gimme that!
    Cikal scarfs the cake down...
Cikal: Wait, there’s more outside the watch?! Alright, just gimme and the boys a moment to bring all our stuff there.

    Completed All Tasks
    That's everyone!
...You can hear the Gerts coming in the distance. You'll need to fight them off!

After Winie says this, a large hole will open up in the ground, where several Gert NPCs will come out of.
Winie: Go down there and try to reason with their leader, whoever that is!

Stage 6 - Go through the Gerten Tunnel
This section will remain the same way as it was in the original 2.0 version (miniboss 1, parkour, miniboss 2), although some mob stats will be changed.

    Level: 79
    HP: 15000
    AI: Melee

    Elemental Damages: Earth
    Elemental Defenses: Earth, Thunder

Once you defeat both of the Gerten Guards, you will arrive in the leader's tent, being introduced to Gerten Head Chief Trato, who will appear to be much larger and fatter than the rest of the Gerts (who will have a custom model).

Gerten Head Chief Trato: Hurry up, Snaga! I have pig bodies to eat and cows to devour!
Gerten Chief Snaga: Y- yes Trato... Trato have best pig meat. Will get Vongar and Bonfo...
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Yes, very good, Snaga. Ooh, who are you? More food?
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Wait, you’re a human! I’ve always wondered what you taste like...
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Yes, I’ll eat you right now!

    • [1] Wait!
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Huh? You’re food, not a Gert! Get in my mouth now!
    • [1] You shouldn't mess with me.
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Why is my food arguing? I said, mouth now, food!
Gerten Head Chief Trato: You... You what?! NOOO! BOUBA AND LOBO WERE BEST GERTS!!! GAVE ME BEST FOOD!!! ONLY PURPOSE OF GERTS IS TO GIVE BEST FOOD TO ME!!!!!!!
    Gerten Head Chief Trato: GAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!
There seems to be no reasoning with Trato... He's in a rampage, and nothing looks like it can stop him!

    Stage 8 - Survive Trato's Rampage
Trato will appear as a hostile mob, unable to be damaged (or having a massively high HP). Trato will spam several of its spells, before gaining new ones the longer the survive section goes on, being Heavy Charge at 30 seconds, and a unique ability, Ground Slam, which launches Trato into the air and slams him into the ground causing a massive AoE, at 15 seconds. You will have to survive for 1 minute.

    Gerten Head Chief Trato
    Level: 90
    AI: Charge
Abilities: Blindness Immunity, Slowness Immunity, Knockback Immunity, Heavy Meteor, Heavy Explosion, Heavy Charge, Ground Slam
    Elemental Damages: Earth, Thunder

Gerten Chief Snaga: Trato! Vongar and Bonfo have food!
A large barrel of food will be carried out by Vongar and Bonfo. The other Gerten Chiefs will leave the room.
Gerten Head Chief Trato: FOOD?! GIVE FOOD NOW!!!
You will then be given blindness.

Gerten Head Chief Trato: Ah, so full! I don’t think I have room for anything now! So, what did you need to speak to me for?
Gerten Head Chief Trato: That tower over there, you say? I’m aware. They’ve been stealing our food for years! Acting all high and mighty.
Gerten Head Chief Trato: You say it won’t happen again?! Me and the rest of us can eat our food in peace?! Thank you, foo- I mean human.
Gerten Head Chief Trato: You can actually help us too. Give one special Gert pig meat, and he will give you items in return!
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Now then, I have an announcement to make.
(You will be given blindness as Trato will face towards the Gylia Watchtower, unmasked.)
Gerten Head Chief Trato: ATTENTION ALL GERTS! STOP ATTACKING THAT VILLAGER TOWER! THE WAR IS OVER, AND WE WILL GET MORE FOOD!!!
Gerten Head Chief Trato: Now, if you need anything, I’ll just eat some of this paper here...
Gerten Head Chief Trato: That counts as peace, right? Hm, well, you do you, what matters is that the Gerts are safe now!
    [+1 Chewed-Up Paper]

This... should count as a ceasefire. You should return to the Gylia Watch to check and see if everyone is safe.

Stage 9 - Return to Winie and the Cinfras Military at [-19, 36, -5425] to check that everyone is safe
Winie: Ah, human! I do see a soggy paper in your hands, that has bite marks on it, so I assume you’ve done your job successfully!
Winie: We heard a Gert shout to head back to their camp and well, that’s that! Good job on getting everyone evacuated, too.
Cinfras Military Officer: Thank you human, and you too Winie, for informing us of this attack and the behavior of the guards here. I’ve always had a feeling something was wrong with this place, since I swear everyone I’ve seen work here has gone completely nuts after a while.
Cinfras Military Commander: However, regardless as to what happened with them, they still broke the ceasefire countless times, so we had no choice other than to fire them on the spot and charge them for their war crimes.
Cinfras Military Commander: As such, the Gylia Watchtower is now government property of Cinfras until further notice.
Cinfras Military Officer: We shall return all the food the former guards have stolen to the Gerts, which should hopefully prevent another war from happening.
Winie: Your job is finished here, ah, sorry, I didn’t quite catch your name.
Winie: Well, <playername>! I think I’d speak on behalf of not just Cinfras, but also the Gylia Plains to thank you for your invaluable service.

    So that's the quest. Here's a Q&A I have set up.

What happens to the Gylia Watch Library discovery?
The open Gylia Watch Library will be moved down a level from the basement.

Why does Trato speak more eloquently than the other Gerts?
Since Trato is the leader of the Gerts, it might make some sense as to why he speaks more fluently, although it could also just as easily mean that he's a newer Gert. Ig that's up to the CT. However, during his rages, he speaks more like a Gert.

    Why does Trato unmask himself?
The design of Trato is meant to appear similar, yet different enough from a Villager so that it's still somewhat subtle, but still hinted at during the quest.

You removed Winie saying the Gylia Watchmen may be ass hats and [1/79] dialogue.
    uwu owo. You happy?

    Constructive feedback is always appreciated.

my main issue with this idea is that the player still overhears the villagers planning to starve the gerts out and sides with them anyway instead of helping the gerts, but as an extension to the current quest this is good.
