What can I do to build a better shop?

  1. Refurnish the place! There is always room for improvement.

  2. Include prices.

  3. Update your catalog and offer newer things.

  4. Nothing can save it! Abandon ship!

  5. Other (message)...

Yawning, the merchant begins to lean back into her fine, leathern chair, exhausted from a day's worth of both entertaining and attending to visitors. Though, as a bell sounds with the creeking of the forge's hickoried doors, any thoughts of sleep soon leave Erin's thoughts with the event of another adventurer walking in. This traveller then makes their way down the aisles of shelved wares, eventually stopping to scrutinize a couple armaments, before turning back over to the merchant, inquirying lively about the items.

"The Passus Lux & The Forgery have caught your eye, no? Well, I'd be glad to equip you with such fine items."

The marketeer then walks over to take the pair of boots and helmet down, tucking them under her arms.

"I'd first like to polish the items overnight before the purchase; however. I wouldn't want any visitor of mine strutting around in dusty armor!"

    UPDATE:

Pushing past the large doors of the forge, the makeshift marketeer slowly, but of course surely, makes her way over to her desk, towing a large bag filled to the brim with wares and other various Wynncraftian items. Letting out a breath, the Smith then raises an arm to wipe the sweat off her forehead, dropping her hands to lay them on her hips,

"I expect these items will appeal to at least several visitors!"

Chuckling, she then begins to empty the bag of its shimmering contents, and placing each felled ware onto their respective sections of the forge line of ancient Nemractian shelves.

*More items have been added to the catalog!

    ENJOY!

    UPDATE:

Inside the doors of the forge, lies a rather humorous scene of the merchant running around her forge, chasing after a small, fairy-like creature with a broom and cage in hand. Jumping over tables, and skidding past shelves, the pin-striped marketeer makes a fool out of herself in an attempt to capture the pesky creature. But after a few more escapades of tailing behind the sprite, Erin finally manages to cage it up, taking with her the stolen identification tags in the process.

"Lo, sprite! I have bested ye'!"

*Links to item identifications have been fixed!

    ENJOY!

A young human man approaches the doors to The Forge; his dirty-blonde hair catching a glimpse of gold in the sunlight. His heavy-plated armor looked worn, but well-kept, as if it were recently modified. Leaning forward (and making sure his helmet doesn't fall out from the crevice created under his arm), me makes note of the store times.

"Well shoot," he sighed, "must've just missed it..! Open until one huh? This whole 'learning' process might take longer than I thought!

The Warrior adjusted his belt, his own smithing hammer clanged against his hip. He folded his arms and leaned against the wooden framework, appreciating its shade from the direct sunlight.

"Now that the Master Smith has passed away, I need to finish learning these techniques in order to take over the Red Iron Forge." He smiled. "I've yet to meet Erin, but I hope she's as knowledgeable about the craft as she is kind!" He smiled, remembering how his old Master used to be with both smithing and customer service.

He gently pushed himself off the wall, remembering the equipment he brought with him was still on his back. If he were to demonstrate his current level of forgery, it was probably best not to damage what he had. He set down his bag and helmet under a nearby tree, plopping himself right next to it. Finding comfort in the bed of grass he was on, the young Warrior dozed off next to The Forge.

Whistling a jolly tune whilst sauntering along the path leading up to the humble grounds of her beloved forge, Erin catches sight of the fair-haired man having a snooze in the grassy patch lawn before the entrance of the shop. The Smith then lifts a curious eyebrow, thoughts swarming around her head of who this resting adventurer may be. Quickly, she decides to set her brown-felted bag full of wares down, before walking over to the traveller, laying a light hand on his shoulder in an attempt to wake him up.

"Ho there, traveller! I see you have taken a liking to the forge's lawn!"

Standing up, she stows away her wand, taking note of the familiar blacksmith appearance of the adventurer. The merchant then continues to closely study him, trying to figure out if they had once crossed paths in the past. Though, with a warm smile, Erin patiently waits for the man to awaken.

In a plight to place the last new ware of the day atop an empty space among the shop's various shelves, Erin sets out to climb her rather dangerous and tall ladder. Carefully placing each foot on the many rungs of the ladder, the makeshift marketeer then sees a bright, small figure in the corner of her eyes; having them narrow in realization that the figure was indeed the playful sprite wreaking minor bits of havoc upon the shop.

"I thought I had captured you!"

She then reaches out to grab the bouncy sprite, accidentally tipping the ladder in process, which sends her spiraling down onto the forge's waxed, maple -wood floors. Swiftly getting to her feet, the Smith then takes notice of a visitor inquiring about a certain pair of gilded boots her store carries. Soon, it dawns on her that the adventurer had the opportunity to witness her pathetic shenanigan, and she rubs the back of her neck in embarrassment.

"Hullo, traveller! Welcome to the Forge. How may I assist you today?"

The adventurer, with a small smirk playing on their lips, speaks to Erin about one of the Morph-Gold boots she has in stock.

"Ah, yes! Of course! I would be glad to equip you with the item right away!"

Erin then pulls out her timepiece, realizing that she has much time left before she has to depart with the store for the day. And so, she offers @ArchDemon a kind smile.

"It also seems that I can make the delivery at this moment! Would a meeting right now be sufficient?"

As the shade of a woman passes over his eyes, he squints from the sudden change in lighting. Opening his eyes, he studies the new face. He recognizing the ever-famous goggles, and tries to hide his joy, letting out a faint smile.

"Good Afternoon, ma'am!" He chirped as he climbed to his feet with a slightly sheepish smile from being caught napping. "I am Jeff - a warrior and apprentice blacksmith!" He held out his hand to shake hers. "I'm not really from Wynn," he admitted, "but after the recent passing of my Master Blacksmith, I decided to close up my own shop and sail abroad for adventure and a better learning opportunity!" He rubs the back of his neck with his other hand. "Admittedly, I've spent most of my time here adventuring. I've kind of spent most of what I earned on my craft, but I still need direction."

Shaking the apprentice's hand, the Smith's smile widens at the thought of meeting another individual of the same trade, before politely listening to what the traveller had to say. Her head nodding, and lips pursing during the exchanges he had to offer.

"It seemed like ages ago before I had conversed with a fellow blacksmith. It's good to meet you, Jeff. And from what I understand, you are looking for some advice? Well, I'd be happy to offer what I can. But please, welcome yourself inside! I've made tea!"

With a swooping motion, the Smith then beckons the adventurer inside while picking up her brown sack of various armaments and wares, and walking towards the florid doors of the shop.

Surprised at such a kind gesture, Jeff picked up his things and headed inside. "Yeah, this is definitely Erin." He thought to himself.

Upon entering the smithery, he took time enjoying the sudden cool rush of air that passed through the crevices in his armor and the view that surrounded him. It felt almost like another home, with a beautiful hearth to his side that was decorated with chairs and other decor. "The Red Iron Forge was never anything like this - I kind of like this look. Maybe when I am able to return, I'll take up a similar style!" His awe could not escape his face; he was obviously a kid in a candy store.

"I'm very impressed with your establishment, Erin!" He said, lost in his surroundings, but trying to keep his vocabulary as professional as possible. "My own home forge is nothing like this! I feel as though I've stepped into your own home," His eyes shifted to a wall of different weapons, a grin growing across his face, "And a very, very pleasant home, indeed! I appreciate the hospitality, by the way!" He rolled his shoulders to give some breathing room to his shoulder muscles from carrying his helmet and his large bag of clanging gear.

Chuckling at the praise sent towards her shop, Erin claps her hands together and a tea trolley carrying a piping hot pot of the herbal liquid, as well as several cups for the consumers, rolls over to them. Standing up to pour both her and her guest each a cup, the Smith smiles at @blasterdud97, offering hip a slight bow while balancing the tea cups in hand. Then, she holds the drink out to him, before seating herself on a cozy chair by the forge's hearth.

"I enjoy the flattery generously thrown at my humble shop, Jeff. It is a sort of...mission of mine to make the forge has homely as possible, and I am to hear something appreciates the decor!"

Taking a short sip from her cup, Erin's pushes her loose goggles up above her head to keep them from slipping into the steaming liquid.

"Now, what sort of counsel were you seeking?"

While attending to shop affairs, an adventurer, particularly a 'venturing musician, walks into the forge, glancing over her Buying List posted on the bulletin of the shop. Soon, after compiling a list, offers it over to the Smith. Taking it from him, Erin carefully studies it, nodding whilst approaching the end of the print.

"This is wonderful, my friend! I'll be sure to use this knowledge to quench my search one of the listed necklaces. You have my gratitude!"

Erin then offers a grateful grin at @Hodsonius, already setting out to complete a certain quest to obtaining one of the listed accessories.

Soon enough, another traveller enters the forge on a busy day, inquiring about her stock of pink wool. Happy to attend to the familiar customer, Erin walks over to the shop's miscellaneous storage to search for the requested blocks. Though, as she opens it, she finds that there are only a few sparingly left, not even near the asked amount. So, she then turns back over to the adventurer, a small frown pulling at her features.

"It seems that the shop only carries 11 blocks at the moment! And a shipment from Maro Peaks isn't looking like it would be arriving any time soon. You have my apologies, but, would the sparce amount suffice for now?"

He sets down his bag of gear and takes a seat across from her, setting his helmet on his lap. He casually sips his tea, a luxury he hasn't been able to afford in a long time. "So, I don't really know how to inquire about this to a Master Blacksmith, as we did just meet." He took another sip, allowing time to choose his next few words with more care. "I am in need of a new teacher... and I'd be honored if you could show me the ropes of how to do business in Wynn? - I know enough already," he stated, stumbling over his words a bit. "but if what I hear is true about you and your shop, I'd love to learn from you! I still haven't completed my studies yet, so I don't know if I should open my own shop yet."

Taking another sip of his tea, he allowed the flavor to warm his chest, giving him temporary relaxation. "I have some of my own craft to show you, if you would like a sample of my work." He nodded to the bag on the floor beside him. "I'll happily donate it to the shop, if you think it meets anywhere near your quality!" He felt a fire in his chest while seeking approval. Perhaps this was his personal motivation - orrr just the tea settling in. Either way, he let it fuel him.

[OOC again. In other words, can you show me how to run a store in WynnCraft? I really like the creative way you conduct business, it almost feels like you're buying from a friend; and the atmosphere is quite warming! I've looked around at other shopkeepers on this forum, but I prefer your style! I have some items I'm saving in-game that I'd be happily willing to donate to your store if you want them; they're all Unique, Rare, and Legendary! :D ]

Drumming her fingers across the arm of her chair, Erin offers a humbled smile at Jeff, hearing out his request for guidance beside the crackling hearth of the forge while setting her little porcelain cup down onto a nearby table. Prompt to stand, Erin rushes over to her desk to retrieve various writing materials, before walking back over to her new friend, quickly scribbling down a provisionary guide.

"I would be honored to mentor you on the manner to handle Wynncraftian business! Let me just create a quick guide..."

Taking the long, magnificent swan feather into hand and dipping it into the inkwell, Erin then begins to scratch words onto the page of parchment she had brought along with her.

    GUIDE:

With the presence of multitudes of shop in the vast and rich lands of Wynn, it almost seems impossible create a successful start-up in the rough streets of the Trade Market. But with the right amount of dedication, a novel merchant stand will have a good chance of thriving.

    Step 1:
    -
Decide the shop's name. Distance yourself from previously made shops by creating a strong, unique name that resonates with the viewer; fancy symbols surrounding the shop title may also garner customers to your doorstep! Though, I suggest choosing a name different from a regular forge, seeing that many other exist. Perhaps the Smithery or Jeff's Armory?

    Step 2:
    - Build your shop. Copious amounts of time should be put into this. Visitors do love tasteful furnishings! Pre-made logos can be nice too, but if you're good with photoshop or any other platform, it would be all the better!

    Step 3:
    - Stock up with wares. DO NOT open up a shop without at least 25 wares. If you have enough, be sure to include item
    identifications!

    Step 4:

    - Enjoy. The costumers will slowly come rolling in after a few days of bumping and maintenance. Remember, the interaction is far more valuable than any emerald!

    ________________________________
With her gray eyes widening at the request, Erin takes a moment to regain her composure before nodding to @Viertuoso. She then begins to plan out a futurecoming trip to Maro Peaks in order to obtain the needed wool.

"Is there a deadline at which you need the blocks by?"
