«rp» Fate's Eye [7/7] ~arc 3~

Marcus bolted for the door as quick as he could, not giving the time of day to the guard, or checking what was in his hands.

 

Panting, Andrei stood over many corpses lying on the stairs. He looked at his fists— they were bloodied, and felt a tiny bit cracked. He opened and gripped his hands, making sure he could still use them. Perhaps punching many of death weren't such a good idea.

He entered a secret passageway— and these cloaked figures who were probably guards attacked and captured him. After a while he started fighting back, and ended up murdering them all.

Now, the staircase was cold and leading downwards. The bodies were all around, hoods still finding their faces.

He reached the door, and looked down to his hands. Yes— it was the key to the door, it seemed obvious enough. Then, he realised that the guard wasn't following. Looking back———

"..........h-elp m-e...."

Crying in a hoarse voice was the younger girl of the siblings Marcus had met earlier— being grabbed by the back of her neck by the guard.

 

He quickly shoved the key in the door (not bothering to turn it) and took off the pelt that had been assaulted with the weapons by the ranged guards. He held it like a offensive net in his left hand, with one of his daggers in the right. He made sure the points of the thrown weapons face the guard as he slowly started approaching. Whether the guard swatted the pelt or took it to the face when Marcus threw it, Marcus figured that he had a way of hitting the guard.

 

''I assume that I'm in the forntlines then.'' I think a bit and then say "I assume that there're eight of them in total, so do you know of any other members other then those two?''

 

"The others are getting a lot of praise from Roswaal. Looks like I'm not as strong as I thought I was." He thinks to himself while giving a vague smile.

"What about those ability users. Are we allowed to kill them or just knock them out? Cause I can do both."

 

"I can attack from a range, to check their abilities if that's what you need." I say, picking an arrow from my quiver and throwing it up in the air "That's my speciality."

Also Lin said I should remind you about the PM I sent you 2 days ago now

 

Am I still armed, or can I easily reclaim my weapons? Or are those gone? And I'd still like to know what magic I'm capable of using.

 

Hm? Yes, I saw those. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with them though.

Roswaal shrugged. "On whaaaat basis do you think I know of the others~? And also, I am sure there are mooore than eight ability users in the organisation, dear Scythe. It virtually owns the underground of Vorkir. I dooon't think they have their full force located in this plaaace."

"So..... they're like the Sins, but more." Tyrinel frowned.

"No no, pleaaase do not misunderstand." Roswaal said, narrowing her eyes. "These Abilities, you can saaay they are inferior versions of the Sins' Authority. It has been told in reports that overuse of them pressures the user."

Roswaal nodded at Angela, then turned to Rathius "....I'm suuuure it does not matter as to if they are alive or not. Hoooowever, if there are those who might be executives in their ranks, pleaaase try to capture them, so we can learn informations from them. Ability users, or not."

Right then, Roswaal turned to her head to the side, her gaze dispersing, then she looked back again. "The others had gone inside. Now how should we divide ooourselves?"

Same as what I posted for Angela:
Fula: A blade of invisible wind that can cut through things.
El Fula: A blast of powerful wind.
Ur Fula: A tornado of wind that cuts, slashes and tosses the opponent around.
Al Fula: An extreme assault of wind like a storm. Able to blow away an entire building.

I guess Andrei can use up to El Fula, but when it gets to Ur it becomes significantly harder.

You have reclaimed the weapons that a guard was carrying while fighting your way out.

The guard made a sound with his tongue in a frustrated way, then while still holding the girl, retrieved the club and swung it down at Marcus violently.

 

It was pretty much just to explain and point out the differences, ya can do whatever you want with those

"I can take care of the first attack shooting from a safe range, but once they see me and come in my direction I'll be mostly useless, I am pretty bad with close combat compared to everyone else here" I explain

 

"I'm with Iza but if someone else is coming in our group then someone who doesn't use magic is best"

 

"Yeah, I'm ready to head out."

He leans back.

 

Right. I draw Mercy and Respite, and run down the stairs, staying low to the ground and near the wall.

 

"Aaaaand so I'm the one left to decide on the groups." Roswaal shook her head. "Not that I mind, thooough."

She rose her hand pointed at Archibaud and Izanami. "You two then better not come to me, as my sole strength is magic." She then scanned the rest. "Tyrinel, as our sole healer as of right here, should go to where knight Carol, Kayde, and James had went to. Both knight Diabel and Lady Alice are able to use healing arts. Karifer can enter whichever sides since he will move on his own. The rest is.... me, Rathius and Angela." Roswaal looked up, then ushered them to two groups, then put herself in one as well.

Archibaud, Izanami, Tyrinel and Rathius at one side; Roswaal, Angela, and Karifer on the other.

Roswaal motioned to Archibaud's group. "In terms of fighting potential, and magic, you should go to knight Carol's direction. And my group will join Lady Alice's direction. Aaaany objections?"

 

"Let's just go. We're going to miss all the fun if we stay here any longer."

 

"I'm totally fine with it" I say smiling

 

Soon, Andrei's ears picked up on some sounds, and at the same time he spotted light up ahead.

He sneaked quietly up towards a certain space during the stairs— which was lit by a torchlight.

Andrei saw in the hollow room. around twenty of the cloaked guards. Around five of them sat around a wooden table, talking to each other in hushed voices. They had their hoods drawn— Andrei recognised them from their characteristics as Vorkirians— olive skin that were darker in contrast with light skin of the people of the Kingdom, with black hair and eyes. The rest of the guards, around 15 of them stood silently all around the room.

The standing guards' silence and stillness had an eerie feeling about it.

James, not quite understanding, nodded. "Alright."

Kayde and Carol backed away, while James closed his eyes and concentrated. Slowly, a light glow emerged from the white-haired youth's forehead, rising about twenty centimeters in height. Kayde and Carol felt air go cold around them as the heat mana in the air got sucked into James' horn. Then—

With cracking sounds, the entire atmosphere was slowly filled with sparkling crystals, each so small they were almost nonexistent.

Kayde tapped Carol on her shoulder. "Can you tell now?" He asked.

Carol widened her eyes. "That's how it is. Alright...." She then looked around the area, frowning slightly. Soon after, she pointed towards a random wall. "There. The crystals are passing through that wall."

"So that's how those murderers stay hidden....." Kayde growled, as he walked forward to the place, along with Carol and James. He placed a hand on it, and it passed through.

"A second." Carol said, taking out a short dagger from her belt. She then walked to the actual wall and carved a large 'X' on it. "To let them know once they reach here." She explained.

James nodded. "Then let's go inside."

Soon after they descended down the stairs for about three minutes, they were suddenly ambushed by men dressed in black clothes. However, James' weapons overwhelmed them instantly, sending them all down with various blades piercing through their hearts.

Kayde sighed. "I'm so glad you people are on the good side, honestly...."

Carol looked down at a body of a hooded man, then flinched. "The smell......." She murmured, then sniffed the air. "Some kind of magic is preventing something from reaching our nose. But there's a slight trace of it....." She then widened her eyes. "No way.....!!"

The knight crouched and pulled back the hood forcefully down.

And what came out was a face of a half-rotten corpse.

 

"None from me. Let's head out"

 

I take a throwing dart from a pouch on my side and carefully toss it into a corner, to make a noise and hopefully cause a distraction.

 

Marcus sidesteps it, keeping a fair distance in order to notice a incoming attack.
"What's wrong?"
Marcus taunted, trying not to show how exhausted he was.
"A bit afraid, now that yer friends are gone?"

 

(Sick yesterday, better now.)
"Zombie bodyguards?! I guess they don't have to worry about running out."
