It is an unknown time because he has a Disease like Alzheimer's. He sometimes forgets how to open a knob on a door. Or puts spicy sauce in soup. Egg whites on bread and forgets my name it is very sad, and i feel for you hoke.
I know it does its, hard I din't really want to post this to get sympathy though I just wanted you to know that I have had same experiences and really do feel for you. Wow that sounds like my post on the depression thread :P

Thats... horrible.
My neighbor just died of pneumonia, which occurred due to side effects from cancer treatment (she became too weak to fight it). And I have a friend who's grandmother is in the hospital (however I think she'll be fine). I feel very bad for him, and you and your mother as well.
