We just have to accept the mods we get, and we have to accept the times when they're chosen (usually when a famous YTer makes a WynnCraft video and there are tons of new players).
No. Fuck no.
I don't have to accept that. Because I've heard a few moderators just choosing fucking friends. Training them even.
I'd rather see a moderator that actually knows what they're doing.
I did have to make that topic. Maybe not in that way, but I did.
ecto had a high chance? how the hell do you know that dan, excuse me but the system is corrupt enough to not choose good people and unless they are friends with a mod, unless someone makes something this is going to turn to shit.
Guys, I haven't seen nepotism in choosing mods at all. If you'd be nice enough to tell me about these cases it would be great (if it makes you uncomfortable you can PM me because the profile posts are not so private...)
Roudan
Ily Roudan, but it just wasnt right that he got mod here instead of in his own community. and he never really contributed much until he was promoted, in my opinion.
They said that CM and WC were gonna be two completely different communities, with different staff and everything :|
But even then, why would you (or your friend) want to be mod anyways?
It's all a popularity contest imo and it's just not something you want to think about.
Just play the game, contribute to the community, make friends, this is what these communities are meant to be all about <3
Man, Dan. Shut up.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You're embarrassing yourself.
There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes - even in public if you'd bothered to pay attention - and this is just not true.
It had barely anything to do with deserving.
As Trooper said, why do we give so much attention to mods? They moderate, let them moderate in peace. We should bother if they don't moderate or abuse their power, which actually happened a few times. When it happens just tell another moderator.
We already have. That's the entire point.
We've already complained. We've already just sat by, making our threads, hoping people got the right idea.
We've done a lot - and shit doesn't help.
I'm at a point where I'm considering to leave - already nearly did but I'm a bit trapped at this place.
Don't get me wrong. I love the community. But I hate parts of it.
Erm, apart your thread JJ I haven't seen more of them complaining about this stuff. Also, I am sure that if you PM the right moderator or maybe even Tama he won't just not listen to you, he wants to solve the problems, not make more.
Skype, PMs. It's moderators themselves complaining, even.
I'm not claiming to know all, but I'm not pulling this out of my ass either. I can get the quotes, the evidence, the examples - I get can them all. Make a nice list of it.
But I'm not about to snitch on the people that told me it in trust. I despise that.
Now, these accusations of me feeling superior, they're kinda funny. Because I actually feel pretty much the opposite of that.
As you can read in some of my other threads.
I'm a lowlife fucking junkie with barely any education whom has achieved nothing in life.
So it's funny you'd say that, you know. Because that's not even me.
I never showed off my likes, or posts. I've always tried to be honest and give my honest opinion on things.
If I felt I needed to confront something or someone, I did it, no matter who or what.
I never kissed ass.
That's more that can be said about others.
And that's the one thing I do feel superior about.
I have to agree with JJ, unfortunately. Sorry for the Americans who won't have a clue what I'm talking about, but I like to think of the process of choosing a moderator here as being like the Eurovision Song Contest. It's part corrupt. That contest is completely political and just goes based on which countries are friends with others - that's exactly see how I see the moderator selection process right now.
JaydenKieran I can't comment as to the activity of three of those mods, but I can personally assure Chimental is a very useful member of te community. He runs the CM server, which is pretty much a full time job, although doesn't come on the forums frequently.
Sage, if that's how it is then it would be nice for him to get a vanity rank instead, or even admin. We should let more active members of the community have a chance of moderating, people that are actually going to take on the role rather than pretend that they have no role in the community. That's how I see it anyway..
They just need to demote people who don't have time for this community, or have too much on their plate. those four mods you displayed jayden are also staff of the cm server too. They do have a lot of shit on their plate, but they are very good at doing their job.
I just think the admins of wynncraft should think about going through the list of staff, talk to the people who aren't being as active, and ask them if they're able to put more time into this community. If no progress is made after a week, they demote the people who are inactive, and promote some trustworthy citizens that they can rely on being helpful, yet consistently active <3
oh, and just one more thing.
Mods don't get payed for what they do for the server.
They have to do everything in their time with nothing in return. The only reason they do it is because they want to help the server and it's people.
Just remember that. You can't just expect someone to completely dedicate their lives to the community, that's insane.
