it's the phenomenon where, despite having much more chemistry and interest with someone of the same gender, a character ends up with someone of the other gender regardless because Boy And Girl Need To End Up Together In The End
also just in general stories where the love interest is some random with very little characterisation that shows up at the end of a story to fulfill the straight couple end-of-story state
and obviously calling a badly written romance hetslop -implying that it only exists to fulfill the expectation of heteronormative relation- is amazing as insult. but i feel like the term seems to be used for *just* bad romance somewhat commonly nowadays
