The lore would be much different if anybody could do that and everybody was basically just immortal

There are many mobs and bosses that always respawn, so I think death lets almost everyone leave

and because of that none of the problems we "fix" are ever really fixed

Important characters like axelus & the crew from AJB stay dead though
I guess it could be something having to do with making sure the correct timeline happens or something, I dunno

Actually I do know, I’m just putting way too much thought into a game mechanic
