First part of LB has been completed. Apart from that water section, it surprisingly, wasn’t that hard to complete. However, the second part probably will be where it spikes in difficulty, due to the ghast and creeper spam.
The god of magic has now joined my ender chest, the god of nature is next! On a side note, that was much less painful than magenta (although I probably would have changed my opinion if one of the blazes knocked me into the void.) On a good note, I got 4 rares, 2 cloaks of the bastion, 1 archmage's vestments, and 1 arcane storm from that, which is probably the luckiest i've gotten in a wool dungeon before.
Which sadistic TM member decided to condense the entirety of the final white dungeon room into a single quest filled with ranged mobs, creepers dropping down from lava, blazes, and vertical climbs above lava pools? Somehow those 3 POIS were more stressful altogether than LB itself
Going to get an actual build before starting yellow, I'm thinking:
Helmet: Big Hat
Chestplate: Warded Vestment
Leggings: Axtan Greaves
Boots: Trueking Chains
Offhand: Cmorphic shield (look I'm bad at the game)
Wand: Elemental Wrath
Monumenta has given me an instinctive fear of lava.
I breezed through three of the four miniboss sections in yellow fairly easily, only dying a couple times even to the minibosses. Got a few rares and 2 hxp from that as well.
Hellshire’s section, though, was an entirely different story. Having an entire room being a massive, glorified, inescapable lava trap is just overly brutal to new players.
It’s safe to say that all of my HXP gained from the dungeon was lost on anvils after I died twice in hellshire’s room. I’ll probably prepare myself with night vision potions for the final void bridge, and probably use a different armor set as well.
I'll be looking forwards to it (however for some reason, I'm determined to get full king's and a myrahg's pestilence before starting R2 so that'll have to wait)
Also here are some thoughts after finishing unveiled:
-Probably won't do reverie until I can either find another player to do it with or get enough anvils/hxp to solo it comfortably.
-Kaul is a must-do for a kapple, which sadly means I'll probably have to sit in front of his arena and wait for other players to start an instance
-Calder is going to be the main antagonist of the game isn't he?
Fair but I'm accustomed to extremely long grinds. I used to spend weeks on wynn saving for expensive mythics so I doubt lootrunning story strikes will be much different. Besides, if I don't at least have a myrahg's, lime's water section will eat me alive.
Completed the staff and finished willows, and apart from the fact that it copied magenta with its parachuting creeper bombardments, it wasn’t that noteworthy and fairly fun.
I now have a bit of HXP I’ll use on either completing my lootrunning setup or to host another Kaul since I still need completion. If I get rich enough, I’ll do Reverie and hope I don’t get screwed over miserably.
Unfortunately for me, I learned that lootrunning SS without a firmament or a very large block supply is outmatched by just not lootrunning at all. This means that I’ll sadly have to progress through the game as intended until I’m able to afford some QOL epics and a better weapon.
Ironically, I could have almost bought a king’s warden with the amount of money I spent on gear recently but instead only have 40 cxp left. Since selling gear is incredibly slow and painful, I have no idea how I’m even going to get close to that point.
Just lost 7 hxp worth of gear to an explosion bug in reverie (my warded vestment, kapple, trueking chains, and axtan greaves are all gone) with the rest of my gear on full shattered 3. If the game wants to make me quit, this is the way to do it.
I have genuinely no clue how I'm going to recover from this now (if I even can.) I only have a single measly HXP on me, which can barely afford half of the vestment, not to mention something like a kapple.
Selling my weapons isn't an option and even that won't cover the costs of the shattered 3 gear. I'm basically without options, which means I'll either have to start over from nothing or get a loan or some other form of help from someone else.
Brief update: Sold a lot of royal crystals for 2 HXP and got two armor pieces back. The other items shouldn’t be that much of a problem since they’re mostly utility, I just need a lot of anvils to repair everything, which I unfortunately might need some help with. (9 iirc)
Thanks for the help in advance!
Finally managed to solo reverie after an agonizing climb up the castle and an even more painful fight with C’Axtal. This boss really changed my opinion of Kaul from “angry nature spirit” to “maniacal and somewhat sadistic villain.”
Finished Outer Demons and another Kaul fight (somehow while wearing a lootrun setup). I’ll probably finish up the Valley storyline and get a True North before retrying SS lootrunning and going on to do more R2 content.
On the topic of True North, I will gladly take your spare quest uncommons, especially the abyssal flames and magic fish. (I’m too lazy to run yellow and fish for 2 hours).
I can pay decently for some of them (specifically the abyssal flame)
True North obtained! This is my first epic (unless you count the ire I got on a loan from stoncko and took a decent amount of time to get (as in mostly waiting for someone to sell me an abyssal flame.)
So slight problem-I’ve been lootrunning recently with borrowed gear and mostly have been trying to memorize routes. I made around 10 HXP today and decided to get my own pair of Desert Explorers (corridors artifact leggings) by getting 8 fragments.
The real problem is, I need a completion of Corridors and don’t have the money (ironically) to do so, which means I have to get someone else to exchange my fragments for the item. If you have the time (which is just a minute) mind doing so?
Made another 14HXP and got a clearcut. I know that I could have probably gotten a king's warden and greaves by now but since I invested so much, I might as well lootrun. Next is probably going to be pcrys and then either king's crown or ire of the gods.
I now have 35 HXP to my name after some SS running. It’s going to take an immense amount of willpower to not immediately spend it all gambling at the casino, and I’m not sure if I have what it takes. However, I’m still determined to get a pcrys, and it isn’t that far away (5-10 HXP?)
Crown has been obtained alongside pcrys! Since HCS conversion rates are absurdly high for some reason, I’ll most likely first get a full king’s set along with primordial flames and myragh’s before completing the setup with an ardent and ire.
I’m slowly dragging my entire guild into the game along me. One of our members used spellweave, sky mage boots, and a TIER ONE SHIELD and is determined to somehow do Reverie with the same gear.
Due to some incomprehensible reason, they’ve, using the above setup, already gotten past light blue.
R1 setup should be just about complete, with 3/4 king’s set, pflames, and two QOL epics. I’m still considering getting an ardent convergence before going further but I’ll probably just finish up the storyline with the two strikes and the Study in Crimson quests before doing much else.
