i'm a heavy supporter of not allowing people to reset & change that sorta stuff wherever they go whenever they want to but this is about the worst way one could have approached adding a limit on it (through hard and long real life time limitations with some arguable p2w thrown in- don't even know if i can trust wynn to not eventually make it a hsb cookie deal down the line nowadays)
it's not even that i particularly mind making it quite difficult to reset your ability tree- but doing dailies? that has to be a practical joke? even if it was just half a dozen shrines spread across the map or whatever where you would only be able to reset it it would still be better than extreme player retention mechanics
i don't care if there is going to be something to "alleviate the effect of low supply on release day" because the market shouldn't even be remotely in the scope for being required for a feature like the AT and this is literally admitting a large mistake and then doubling down on it by giving an unfair advantage to older players for no reason at all
also why are skill points not resettable outside of towns anymore? i do that constantly during playthroughs, you become able to wear gear once you gain a level why is the process suddenly fight -> town -> fight -> town for a new higher level piece of gear was this very frustrating extra step really necessary
(my thoughts on this whole thing, while i am mad i also have learnt that as an active ct member you can't appear in threads like were on fire all day yesterday because you're either throwing gasoline on the fire for no reason or worsening the myth that the ct is one entity with one opinion )
rereading this i'd like to add that dailies are far from free and easy as well, you really need to go 10-30 mins out of your way depending on where you are in a playthrough and i only do them by happenstance while playing a long session like 20% of the time
they're nice microquests for players that are bored / don't know what to do next / push then in the right direction if needed but when i was forced to do them during festivals i burnt out within two weeks everytime.. HARD. and i'm really, really not looking forward to that experience being front and center for one of if not the most important feature in the game
