I actually agree with him; While Shakespeare was a talented poet, he wasn’t really a good writer. Take Romeo and Juliet for instance. No sane people would fall in love within 24 hours and get married that week, even back in the day when minors marrying was more common.
In stories, relationships need time to develop because that’s how they work irl. I get that it’s a play, so it’s shorter than a book or a movie or whatever, but still, the whole story just feels really forced.
@Spinel Pardon me but is this an intellectual comment on my shitpost about how bad Shakespeare's marketing campaigns were even though how he is still popular to this day? I approve.
