Not in my opinion, no.

With the amount of quests and dungeons that basically let you skip through everything it is undoubtedly not worth it

it unlocks a grind spot which used to be good but it got nerfed.
it's also a place to buy bob's mythic weapons, but these suck too.
there's also an altar but that's not necessary.

If it's your first class, yes do it. Any other run of the game it's pretty skippable though.
