It's fine @Snerp , rank doesn't matter tbh. I personally don't really enjoy competitive either. You bought the game you can play what you want and how you want. For me I'm just gonna do placement matches and never touch competitive for the entire season. If you want you can join me in Custom Games which i set up sometimes for fun.
What I like to do in Overwatch is play my favourite hero in Quick Play, meme around, or just try new heroes. I also join custom games (join others or create 1 myself) to have fun. SR is just a virtual number that you don't have to worry about tbh.
