The read is really good from far away/profile view. The lips/nose could use some anatomy work, but for profile view it looks great. If you would want to fix the anatomy later, just find some front view face reference

Yeah I'll probably polish it later on since this was more of a practice drawing. I really wish profile icons had more resolution though, since some of the anatomy problems you mentioned (specifically the lips) are caused by image downsizing.

Same thing with the chin area. It was supposed to be a highlight, but it ended up looking like two random streaks of hair are floating on the neck :p

It's basically a completely different style now though. From clean and simple -> semi-realism.

I think the "clean and simple" was fine as it was. It was mostly just the mouth and nose anatomy. The mouth looks much better now, but the nose could still use some work.
