I don't know what 'layout' you say is, but I think you can set it from the settings of PC. I'm using mac (ofc in Japanese mode) so it'd be best for you to google how to do it. .-.

Ah. Well I meant if the keys on your keyboard do have kana on them or Latin letters (the keyboard layout). The use of input language setting does not depend on it but choosing the same language as your keyboard will match the printed characters. So if I chose Japanese as input language I will not see what the keys are for until I type on them.

it seems to have the Latin alphabet as the base and connects the letters to hiragana, katakana and kanji
