Capitalism is not the antithesis of communism. Capitalism is in it's simplest meaning is a market in which competition is encouraged. Communism is the rejection of capitalism under the idea that if nobody should compete. Communism and Capitalism are different things. Communism is an ideology, while Capitalism is simply an economic belief. 1/2
For example, one can work hard and earn money, but distribute the fruits of labor equally with one's coworkers, and still make money for their dues. Communism is the rejection of all economic compeition, and is based in establishing a worker's utopia. They are entirely different things. Communism as a whole also does not aim to control.
