Then open a "Multiply" layer
In the multiply layer, use light colours (cuz it's multiply) to shade the "shadowed" areas, aside from the hue used in the base, use neighboring hues for vibrance and not lazy shades.
For me, I just do random strokes around the shadow areas.
Next up, open a "Lumi and Shade" layer, use the same palette as ^^^ but the colour shades depend on you, don't use too bright ones, we save that for the next layer. Do strokes on the supposedly un-shadowed areas.
Upcoming comes "Luminosity" layer, don't use white but bright shades of the base colour. Stroke the tips and sides of the crystal using the "colour" brush.
Last but not least, the "Shade" layer applies the shadow direction(?) This depends on you, do not make the crystal too dark, it'll ruin it's glowing effect.
Tips:
Never use airbrush for shading on the crystal
I use "Marker" brush for the random strokes
You can change the hue and saturation if you feel the colours are not natural or too saturated (there's a setting for this I forgot what it's called)
I use Paint Tool SAI
I'll make a pictured tutorial soon, I'll try to do it later
