I was there, all I can say is find some friends that you do really well with. Duo and trio queue are usually the best way to climb.

One really important tip: Excel at 2-3 heroes instead of playing a lot of them.

But currently I'm at 1150 sr
(Blame the shitty placement matches I got)
and all my friends on ow are 1700+

so even if I wanted them to help I would run the risk of falling below the threshold for grouping

solo means playing as one person, duo with 2 people in a group, etc.

We got placed at 1000. We did a 1100~ SR climb. 3 hours a day of duo and trio queue really payed off. Here's a tip: If your friends suck, then stick to quickplay. Don't play comp with someone just because their your friend. That was our mistake.
