I dont really consciously make "big" art. I usually start with 2k by 2k and chip off what I don't need. It ends up around 1k by 1k. I think my res is 100/pixel but I gotta double check that when I get home
It generally depends on what you need it for and what your computer can handle. I would say bigger is usually better. That way, if you need to crop an image, it will still be decent quality. I use 4k monitor size (3840x2160) for landscape wallpapers. If you're making digital comics, you generally want bigger dimensions so you can crop and reuse portions without losing quality.
its because since i make very big artwork without knowing ( plus i use a Dell laptop ) and when i convert it to and imgur png, it turns jpeg and looks shit. But other then that, Thaannks ^_^_^_
Hmm. if you save the original file as .png, Imgur converts images over 5MB into JPEG and the max file size is 10mb I believe. Most of my images are over 10MB, so I scale the size down to less than 10MB, then add .png to the end of the image url. I'm not sure if scaling to less than 5MB would look better or not. I need to try it sometime.
bigger is unnecessary and can lag SAI depending on how many layers you have (how sure how good of a computer you have). It's extremely clear and big enough relative to screens at around 1k x 1k imo
