Wacom is a good brand, though some of their products can be quite expensive they have the best quality. If you're just getting into digital art, you can get a small Intuos for $100. However, if you're very serious about your work, you can invest in an Intuos Pro (medium, with no multi-touch: $250-$300)

Ganny got me the same thing @SoloSnuggles has and it in fact works excellent if you ask me!

@cicetil I used to have a Wacom Intuos 4 Medium for a couple of years. But that eventually crapped out on me (the microUSB ports specifically became unsoldered and disconnected). I probably won't have a whole lot of money laying around because of college payments, so I'm kinda weighing my options.
