Troll horns don't grow back (as seen with Equius), nor bleed (again seen with Equius). There are a few theories about troll horns, but are confirmed to not be made of bone (as seen with Post Scratch young Damara/The Handmaid). One theory I've seen is that they're believed to be a sexual stimulant, so touching them could give pleasure.
Hmmmm…they probably aren't some form of keratin, since hair and nails grow back. Plus, rhinos have keratin horns that grow back. Maybe they're ivory like elephants tusks, that don't repair, or grow back since they have no living tissue.
