Same lol. I graduate college next semester, but that’s only if I pass a class that I’m currently borderline-failing, and that final is in less than 24h. So that’s fun lol
Yeah I graduate next semester as well lmao, and same here as well. Working on an essay and if I fail this essay I won't graduate c: Do tell how your final went!
Ah. I didn’t know we were like the same year. That’s interesting lol. I take my final in about 12 hours so that’ll be interesting. Willing to bet I’m gonna fail it but hopefully the professor rounds the final grade based on participation and stuff lol
The tests in this class are legit so brutal that we are allowed to use notes, PowerPoints, textbooks, and even take it with classmates and everyone still fails anyway lol. They’re that fucking hard
I took it with 3 other people, and spent the whole 2 hours to find as much as we could online/in book and we made a 72, and only because she removed the big essay portion of the test lol
Should be passing with just 72, but a couple of us got bonus points for an assignment she messed up, so I believe it will be bumped to 82. So hopefully that’s high enough that I can stop worrying about it and be done with it lol
That sounds good, though! It's due to the 7th of January, but the "final" deadline is in May sometime I think? We started back in early September but I've been procrastinating like the mess I am.
I mean, it /is/ a scientific report. It has to reach the standards of University. :/ It can be done in a month if you work on it every day I guess. I just think it's really boring aha.
Ah. Gotcha. What are you majoring in that you need to do a scientific report?
Also I respect the motivation to work on something due so far away. I can’t be motivated to work on stuff that’s due like 5 hours away, let alone 5 months lol
Yeah! It's so easy to think "I have months on me, I can fix this later." :P
If I translate my major directly into English it'd be Society and Behavioural Science. My report had to be about any kind of 'health' related, either physical or psychical. I went with the latter as it's more in my alley than physical lol.
I decided research how queer people's health is in my town and how they experience homophobia and how they deal with it etc. It's pretty fun! I've done interviews and most of them says the same thing so my conclusion will be easy~
Ah. Yeah the ‘later’ thing is something I struggle with lol. And that’s a cool topic to pick. How have you been finding the right people to interview? Are you just asking around if anybody know any queer people you could interview or are they friends or is some of this online?
Also queer is basically a slur in the US at this point so it’s strange using that term lol
Also from what I understand you’re asking queer people how they feel when exposed to homophobia. So have you talked to any homophobes to use some of what they say in the paper? Sometimes it’s helpful to mention the other perspective, even if it’s wrong lol. Like readers know homophobia is a thing, but I don’t think many people fully understand the mindset behind it or the behavior that results from it
Like someone in my English class found a surviving Nazi to interview for one of their essays and hearing the guy explain his perspective was just absolutely unreal. Not sure if you could work something in like that without getting too far off-track or not. Worth suggesting, at least lol.
Also sorry for 3 separate messages, character limit is annoying.
I'm queer and my town is pretty small so naturally I know all queer people around lmao. Pretty interesting to hear that the word queer is used a slur in the US, because it isn't around here. It's regarded as an umbrella term for those who doesn't identify as heterocis, and not much else. Only homophobes uses it as a slur, of course.
I was actually thinking of doing that! But 1) my instructor/supervisor/whatever said I didn't need to, and 2) There isn't any straight (haha) up homophobes in my town either. It's mostly just these people that are annoyed at gays who are sjws etcetc. And don't worry about the messages c:
Ah. Didn’t realize you were in a small town. Yeah, that would make finding people easier. Also 10/10 pun lol. That’s nice though that there aren’t too many blatant homophobes in that area. Would make it a lot more annoying otherwise.
That’s how it is in my state, lol. If you don’t live in one of the 3 big cities, you’re living in country/redneck territory where hunting, beer, and football reign supreme. I’m so out of place ;-;
