For the former: start at about 4-10EB, and have the price for items go up about 8EB or so every 4 levels or so, but have there be larger jumps in higher levels, and know that IDs can influence the price. If all else fails, consult the Price Check Thread.
For the latter: Fuckin' do it. What's stopping you?
