also it is taking me forever to download the terrain it usually takes a couple seconds but now its takeing like 5-10 mins is something going on or is it something on my end?
It might possibly be on your end, the texture pack makes it hard for a lot of people to load quickly. I believe you can find the texture pack online. I have mine just in my texture packs folder and the server texture pack off. Takes about a minute but it's still better than a longer wait time.
