No, they shouldn't. They're going to die with or without us, and the panda's existence is painful and low-qualitu because of it's terrible diet. The only reason why we're not supporting organisms that hold up entire ecosystems instead of this thing is because it's cute.

While that is true, maybe we should simply shift focus? Every animal is important in some way, and people obviously care for pandas.
