An air wand wouldn't be very useful to a mage anyways, they have no spells that use air and they have the weakest melee.

So? That's like saying Warrior shouldn't get a water spear because their spells are meh, but they still got Idol. Or saying archer should get a fire bow because their defence sucks, but they still got Ignis.
