Jellyfish belong to the class Cnidarian, this is because they have stiniging cells called nematocysts. They share this classification with a few other animals like sea anenominineine's and things like the Box Jelly (which isn't actually in the jellyfish subphylum, and is its own phylum called Cubazoa) Jellyfish belong to the phylum Scyphazoa, or True Jelly.
