I'm not sure why you're using 'Contractions' like that. To me, contractions are something shrinking in size, or an action that happens to a woman in labor.
Contractions (as I am referring to them, don't get the other definition!) are words made up of two words, where some of their letters are replaced by an apostrophe. Don't use them though! Just because they're "shorter" doesn't make them better!
I will admit, "Don't do that." Sounds more modernized and dull, while 'Do not do that.' sounds more foreboding and old (in a good way. Like a wise wizard saying to a valiant knight "Do not enter the cave of the damned.").
I would not see you using them either; nor would they ever come back to bite you in an ironic turn of events wherein you have found you have actually been using them the entire time, and a strong sense of irony overwhelms, not only you, but those involved speaking with you at the time.
