Finally, some place that isn't close to me. I'm still worried for you, but I've had a few close calls with natural disasters (and I live right near a potential magnitude 9 earthquake right now, which REALLY doesn't make me feel any safer), and I'd rather go the rest of my life w/out a high chance of death by nature. 18000 buildings burnt down and 88000 people evacuated from Fort McMurray. Some of them came as far south to where I live. The PM sent THE MILITARY AIRFORCE to come help control the fire, which is still going. The entire country is working together to stop this.

Now's probably not a good time to mention it, but hot wildfires cause heat differentials great enough to literally create fire tornados. The reason why is a complicated mesh of heat expanding air and quickly creating low pressure spots
The best time to mention that is never, so whatever. The last time we had a tornado where I live was before my parents were born, I believe. It's possible, but I think that's the least of our worries :p
