I also am rooting for the algorithm because it would represent a huuuge step forward for AI and neural networks.
It's really weird how neural networks work, I can only imagine how complicated AlphaGo's programming is.

I always thought that AI and neural networks were cool, and this is actually pretty exciting!

The unique thing about Go is that unlike chess, it's said to require intuition and instinct, as opposed to brute computing power. That's what's made it so difficult to put into a program up until now.

The best part is, I barely even cared about Go before Google made AlphaGo. Now I'm all like AlphaGo fanboy XD
