Well story-wise, Xenoblade X and Xenoblade are different you are not gonna be lost if you begin with X! :P

Although the first one's a pretty good one too. Features a variety of good characters such as: The One Who Really Feels It, Reyn-bow, The Useless One, The One With Ridiculously Low Health, Cotton Ball, The One With The Terrible AI, and The One Who's a Spoiler.
