Ain't about to play standard textures on a €2000 PC...

DokuCraft High is good. If you want I can give you the version that I self edited textures in order to make them Wynn weapons while matching the texture pack.

It looks nice, but a bit dark, does it translate well into the game?
I imagine playing at night (game, not irl) can be a bit of a pain.. ?

I use DokuCraft with Optifine and Max Gamma (in options not in code) and it works pretty well. It's not too dark at all with those settings.

gamma = brightness, it's called brightness in-game, but referred to as gamma in options.txt

Gamma and Brightness are basically the same thing. Whatever it's called in the Video Settings.
