Corkus Rework

Corkus has one town, one dungeon, a handful of caves and world events, plus a few discoveries, 5 quests and... oh wait. That's it. At LEAST add another town! Corkus is just Corkus City, Fallen Factory, maybe 10 caves and literally like nothing else aside from discoveries and like one boss altar? It's SUPPOSED to be a PROVINCE.

 

Relos is sad

It's only supposed to be 10-15 levels of content and, on top of that, is not the only content region for those levels (tail end of COTL I think and also Molten Heights and maybe Early Sky Islands?

Also its status as a province are highly contentious. The only people who think that are Corkians. That's why most call it Bird Island or similar.

 

Another town exists, as well as 2 boss altars and a lootrun

The problem is that there's literally nothing (aside from a boat to Legendary Island and a secret discovery) in Relos. Most of Corkus just feels like it kind of... exists? Which is really sad because I see how much love went into the designing of the landscape and the reworking of the mobs.

Also, Corkus has a council that governs it independent of Fruman influence (so we hope), yet is still not given the respect of sovereignty by other provinces. If they're not an official province, I'd like to see their fight for recognition be more prevalent in the main storyline (which will inevitably need updating anyway but that will take a lot of time and the dev team is already super busy on things that require more immediate attention).

They only added this with Fruma or one of the minor updated afterwards

I agree so much with this. Six quests and 3 secret discoveries are not enough for an area the size of Corkus, it's so full of (currently) wasted potential.

One thing I'd like is to make it have deeper ties with Fruma instead of that sole secret discovery in the Roughworks. Other cues for improvement are the already-cited fight for recognition as a province, fleshing out the two questlines, putting actual content in Relos, redeveloping the Avos Territory, and the addition of quests that delve into the steampunk genre in general.

(also I'm biased lol, Corkus is my favourite area of all Wynncraft, Corkus forever <3)

 

Probably faster to just go to Ragni and climb over the peninsula mountains.

 

Plus then you get the chance to come across the pirate seiged mansion

 

I think the issues with Corkus stem from it being added four years before Gavel Reborn, which was the big start of Wynncraft being reworked from the older, simpler design and the much more unserious tone that it used to have. There are several updates that could also be argued as the "real" start to Wynncraft's changes in tone and design (especially the Silent Expanse, and possibly Dungeons and Discoveries or even the Economy Update), but every one of them was released after Corkus, so it just got the short end of the stick being made right before Wynncraft's big shift in design philosophy.
