    Hello there.
I hate Prelude to Annihilation. Not because of the difficulty, or needing a party, but because it (almost) never happens at a time where I a. know it's going to be available for me (you have no idea how many I've missed because I trusted that Wynnpool prediction was correct and out of my timezone for that day) or b. is actually available. These issues compound quite a bit, and I have suggestions for them:
Suggestion 1: Anni is always active.
What do I mean? Let me explain. Whenever the world event Prelude to Annihilation begins, it immediately begins the countdown again. This would tell you how many days and hours it would be in, and allow you to plan around it or know whether or not it's going to be available just by logging on. People would no longer need largely inaccurate but close enough to be semi-useful predictions from various Discord bots and Wynnpool. That way, unlike other suggestions that just say "You can do Anni any time of day during that day," it's still a World Event and still acts like one. It just cuts out all the uncertainty.
Suggestion 2: Anni runs on a regular schedule.
What do I mean? Let me explain. Let's say the first time Annihilation happens next month in October is at 12:00 am in some timezone somewhere. The next Annihilation would happen three days later at that timezone's 1:00 am, and then three days later again at 2:00 am, and so on until it reaches that golden window of the evening where you can usually log on until it gets too late for it to be reasonable to stay up. The most unreasonable part of this suggestion is that it would take like a month to get to Annihilations in your timezone and then they'd be there for a bit and then another month.
Suggestion 2.5: Same as before, but alternating.
What do I mean? Let me explain. Let's go back to the last scenario: The first Annihilation of October starts at 12:00 am in some timezone, it doesn't really matter which. The next one would start at 12:00 pm that timezone, and then one after that would start at 1:00 am. This way, we go back and forth, and while the packets of available Anni's would be far less dense, they would be more consistent.

I've had the opportunity to do Annihilation maybe 10 times in the year since it came out, and I've been playing pretty consistently since 2.1. I don't think I'm the problem.

Until my next wall of text.

This is a pretty neat idea, I think any of these would be better than the current model.

it's too late... the bots have already won.

i think 1 and 2.5 would work very well together, agree with both. i think you should post this on the discord so people actually see it...

damn honestly that tracks lmao, wynncord can be pretty toxic especially the constructive feedback section. i don't blame you. i might suggest this at some point but tbh it will probably be bombarded with that one buzz lightyear gif

The way I would do it is by having Prelude of Annihilation doable at any time, but you can only get the rewards once a week (or however many days it currently is). This is the general way MMOs handle high-difficulty activities such as Warframe with Archon Hunts and FFXIV with new raids, and it would work wonders for Annihilation because of the many problems it currently causes, from player schedules and sudden lag spikes.

I agree with that statement. But it's been suggested before & like a year ago & also they probably would have thought of this and added it if they wanted to. The suggestions in this post are made under the (possibly incorrect) assumption that Annihilation must be a world event.

To my knowledge, the reason why they can't have a timer for Anni always be active is dumb backend reasons which basically mean that they'd have to re-code the world event system to allow it.

isn't there a division on a technical level between regular world events and Major ones, because then you could just replace the random number generator with a schedule or heck... just make a perfect anni timer and put it on the website

I think there is no division and that is the point. Anni is, on the backend, a normal World Event, and is hence bound by the same constraints.

That being said, the spider World Event in Nivla is always firing so ??? can't they just have the Anni randomly restart immediately after completion?
