    Hello everyone,

I've been observing the current dynamics in the trade market, where it often becomes a race to the bottom with prices. To address this, I propose a dynamic market fee system. The idea is to start with a higher market commission of 20% when an item is first listed. Over time, say every hour or day, this fee would gradually decrease to a minimum of 5%. This system rewards patience and can reduce the incentive to constantly undercut other sellers. It encourages fairer pricing strategies and promotes a healthier market environment. This change could lead to a more balanced and strategic trading experience for all players.

I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

I have a couple of concerns with this.

The first would be that with fungible goods (tools, emerald pouches, powders, etc.) this would just become a timer before your item would sell. There would be no reason to ever lower prices beyond what there already is, since at some point, yours would become cheaper until it hits the minimum, where it would be the same as it is now. This means that quick selling items would massively detract from your profits, even more so than it already does, since you'd have to set the price low enough that it will be lower than the average even after the inflated tax.

For items that are unique and where IDs matter, undercutting prices already isn't the primary strategy. If you have better rolls, you sell it for more. If you have worse rolls, you sell it for less. The only time this isn't the case is when you really need money or where you really want to be rid of the item. In both cases, this would hurt sellers for the aforementioned reason, and not help buyers since they'd still be paying the same amount from the increased tax.

For items that aren't being quicksold, the only thing I see this doing is putting a gambling system in place in which people without a lot of cash would be incentivized to wait to buy things while hoping the item doesn't get bought first, while people who have enough money to not really care get the first pick of whatever's sold. For sellers who aren't concerned about the time it takes to sell, there's not really any incentive for them to change anything.

and atp just add an auction system
and at that point just add a bazaar
and at that point just add mining combat end and spiders den island
and at that point merge with Badpixel Grindblock
