(I wouldn’t mind someone debating this, since I genuinely think it would end up better—gameplay wise—despite the fact it doesn’t “feel” as immersive as a set event you find in the world.)

Annihilation is, honestly, pretty set as a fight. I’ve done it 4 times, once every change, and its general mechanics are really fun to figure out. Maybe some new mechanics or a different arena would be fun, but, it’s not the highlight of this suggestion.

I’ve never liked the fact I have to wait for a specific time for Annie, and, it’s been parroted enough times, at this point. Whether it’s the lag, the inconvenient time tables, the complete inability to fight it at all, whatever, it really just makes the server into a mess. And, even when you do manage to fight it, the lag is enough to force a lot of players away from the play style they may want to fight with, limiting the fight to lightbenders, tanks, whatever.

I want to suggest that Annie is made into a weekly event. However, instead of it being a set date that you can fight, every account is—essentially—offered a “key” that will be handled through a specific NPC either near the portal, or stationed in Detlas. (Like a party finder for Annie specifically) This “key” is offered weekly, allowing you to fight Annie whenever you see fit. Whenever it’s used, though, you must wait another week to receive another opportunity to fight.

(Because the key is not an item, rather, an internal check, like a daily chest or guild objective, its also limited to one a player, ensuring that people cannot farm multiple keys to stack Annie fights, whenever they were away for a while.)

I understand that alts will always be an issue, but, knowing that people already take alts into Annie fights, bloating parties, nothing—to me—is changed. It’s still a weekly event, just able to be triggered whenever convenient. And, having an internal timer for each character just seems—to me—like the best solution for this issue.

(also, I’d like to add that I understand that Annie being a world event is something that the team behind Wynncraft are adamant on, but, if anything even close to this idea is considered, having all major world events—anything close to Annie in style—be tied to a system like this seems like the way to go.)

feel free to argue against, or with, I’m excited to see if there’s any other ideas

The lag can be deadly. I haven't beat anni yet and am not really gunning for it until I have a build, but I can imagine that as time goes on if I get on just planning to beat anni and I have to deal with not being able to cast spells (has happened a couple of times now) that it would bug the crap out of me.

OP made a good point regarding how Alt Abuse already happens with Anni in that players with alts just add their alt to their anni party, store the alt somewhere safe from damage during the fight, and end up with additional rewards per alt account. This rework doesn't fix the capacity for alt abuse with anni, but the current alt abuse is way easier than what you're suggesting would happen under this rework: running anni once per alt account.
