Game Mechanics Combat Memories

Picard's memory-restoring device can't seem to retrieve the player's non-existent memories of fruma, but maybe it could serve another purpose.
Wynn has hundreds of boss encounters but none of them are particularly easy to get to. Maybe you have to trek through a dungeon, pay up some materials to an altar, wait a couple hours for the event to start, or even a once per character quest encounter. Wouldn't it be great if you could get some practice on these encounters or try out a build on them without the hassle? Maybe get some quick footage for a video, or just fight the Colossal Rat again?
Concept: Upon completing Recover the Past, the player gets access to Picard's memory orb as a means to instantly replay battles with no risk and no reward. The memory version of the boss won't drop any experience or items, and death penalties are disabled. A battle gets added to the memory list as soon as it's attempted. Quest bosses, dungeon bosses, boss altars, world events, and raid bosses all can be added to the memory list.

 

It'd be really nice to be able to test out builds and strategies against raid bosses without having to do the full raid every time. It also would be pretty nice to be able to do a challenge run Greg solo using some cursed build without a time limit or inflicting your 30-minute long solo on your teammates.

 

As a meme build enjoyer, I'd kill for this. The only boss you can do for free right now is Qira, and it's not exactly representative of the rest, so testing there is not very useful.
There's also a question of group replays, some things can't be tested without others, like resisting Parasite spells.
Does sound like a lot of dev time though

i don't know if it's possible but i'd love this in-game

 

This would also be great for testing builds for corrupt dungeon bosses, annihilation, raid bosses, and other situations.

 

This sounds fantastic. Making a build that looks good on paper just for it to suck in a real situation sucks and this would be just the thing to fix that.

 

This except maybe not on an item you can only get once a year

i assumed they were referring to the physical one in the tower of amnesia
