World More World Event Ideas

    When 2.1 dropped, I think most players were quite excited for the World Events, especially the Major World Event Annihilation. But after a few months, we all are craving for more new events!

    I understand that there are already plans to add more World Events and Major World Events. So here are some ideas for the dev team.

    1. (Major World Event) A Kraken like monster squid that spawns randomly in various location in the ocean. Such as Jofash area, Selchar area, Nemract area, and Pirate Town area. A ship spawns before the event starts where players will have to gather to take part, and as the event starts the ship is torn apart by the monster squid where the battle takes place on the floating ship wreckage.

    2. (Major World Event) The Phantom Colossus, the once protector of the Ahms region that had destroyed itself and fallen into the void, temporarily gathers it's strength influenced by the mysterious powers of the void. Though not complete, players battle parts of the Colossus in the void. The green/blue parts of the Colossus can be magenta/purple to show the influence of the void.

    3. (World Event) Sky Island and Void World Events. Sky Raiders battle, Dragonling battle, Angel Battle, Ovine battle, Frozen Fort battle (this area is dead), and Void mob battles.

    I would also like to see current World Events changed to include not just mob waves, but mini-game like challenges and parkour challenges. Wave after waves of mobs get repetitive really quick.

    so
    thing is
    what you are literally saying in a nutshell:

    1 & 2 : they don't really pose enough threat to be an actual MWE. a reminder, Annie is literally the embodiment of carnage and the realm of war coming through the portal and practically poses enough of a threat to annihilate most of wynn

    3. not bad yk, sky islands really lack world events, but thing is there aren't that many places large enough to host world events

    uh also

    it would take an unholy amount of work for the CT to add puzzles that would have to be removed after the event ends.

    plus you aren't even considering the ramifications of multiplayer. the old colossus boss fight involved one person solving a puzzle. if they took too long… well, yeah. furthermore the parkour is negligible imo, the only functional version of a parkour in a WE would be probably a teleport to a room with parkour, but multiplayer issues again

    Lore-wise, you're right. It wouldn't be a "Major" event. So call it whatever the content team would like to call it, Median World Event?
    My point was to have events that are similar in scale, mechanics, and rarity to Annihilation with worthwhile rewards.

    That would break down to:

    1. Scale

    Annihilation is pretty fricking big. There's not a lot of places you could put stuff that big, but a spot in the ocean could be considered, which merits your argument

    2. Mechanics

    Like all world events, Annie is also just combat, which doesn't exactly jibe with your point of varied mechanics in WEs. If you're referring to script spells and sigils, the CT is actively implementing script spells into most miniboss and boss mobs. I don't know what mechanics are you referring to. Minion summoning? New-sun style insta kills? Huge lasers?

    3. Rarity

    Okay, so, you do know that annihilation occurs once every 3 days, right? players already try to schedule ahead to an upcoming date. Major world events are supposed to be like that, plan-ahead and rare. too many major world events would be… uh, a sizable comparison would be mythic saturation in the trade market right now. (I sold my old discoverer for 40le, I bought it for 6stx in the past, anger)

    4. Worthwhile rewards

    Be specific.

    If you mean stuff like the corrupted cache, then probably it's not gonna be implemented. 4/5 cc items have major IDs, All of them are suited to an extremely niche, endgame playstyle (cancelstack/rawstack for trance, for example); and they have already gone through multiple balances. Unless the CT is going to start querying its player base to help them balance the items(which has NEVER been done in the past, item events have always been lore/name submissions), it's gonna be a lot of work.

    If you mean emeralds… Doing regular WEs have a higher emerald output. Or just lootrun. Or do TNA. Or even grind ingredients. World events are supposed to be focused on exclusive items and ingredients.

    The only two 'worthwhile' categories that are even remotely possible before a major update would be ingredients and exclusive items, and of course, people's opinions vary on if it is worthwhile, since anything that isn't meta is going to fall a lot (RIP Nighthawk & Ornithopter).

    All in all, I'm not trying to attack those ideas, I'm saying that… those ideas are just too time-consuming, and as of now, vague to be implemented, and will impress few.

    I'm seeing a pattern in your responses.
    A lot of your assumptions are your interpretations. But that's fine.
    The purpose of my post is to give ideas. The content team is free to expand from there.
    I purposely left things vague because I'm not here to give a balanced complete recommendation.
    Just want to plant that seed (idea) in the content team so they can continue to make something exciting and wonderful.
