World Names Are Fun

Tiny-ass suggestion because I saw a msg relevant to this

Ever since I’ve begun working on <unspecified Wynncraft project this isn’t the place to talk about it> the fact that the names Dernel Jungle and Cinfras (the Dead Island NPC) can be easily misinterpreted or mixed up became ever-more prominent

They’re old ancient content so I don’t really mind changing them to have a little bit less chance of mixups (not that that happens often but seriously? He shares the same name as a major city?)

Luckily, because of <unspecified Wynncraft project> I have actually come up with new names for the two of them that I believe remains faithful to their original intentions yet also removes the aforementioned flaws:

• Cinfras -> Francis. The city (or the NPC, whichever came first) is an anagram of Salted’s real name, would be cool to have it loop back full circle.
• Dernel -> Drenel. Gets rid of its unintentional connection to the Realm of Darkness AND also retains the Needlr anagram. Also it’s pronounced like the word “Adrenaline” but that fact only makes sense in my version of the Jungle in <unspecified Wynncraft project>

Make just the npc name into Francis, the city name changing wouldn’t make much sense but what kind of name is cinfras for an npc if there is already a city called the same thing

 

I assumed they meant to change the NPC’s name in the first place, not the city, it wouldn’t make much sense to change the city’s name lolol

Francis is a very weird name for a city

I sure am glad there is no city or country in real life that has a similar-sounding name that would indeed be a nightmare

 

Is that a reference to an NPC in the world-renowned full-fat Minecraft MMORPG server "Wynncraft" which is a part of the level 100 quest which unlocks the Silent Expanse called "A Journey Beyond", called "Blacksmith Dren"??!?!?!?
