Game Mechanics Raid pools shouldn't overlap

Discussion in 'General Suggestions' started by Aya, Sep 6, 2024.

?

Three out of four raids agree on giving Trapper aspects. Which raid do you trust?

Raid rewards right now overlap heavily. The current rotation has 3 out of 4 raids feature Trapper's mythic aspect, 2 out of 4 feature Sharpshooter's and Acrobat's. The same happens with many other aspects such as Aspect of Bullet Hell or Chain Knife.

This is a problem as it means the current pools are COMPLETELY random and getting a chance to grind for the aspects you want is completely up to pure luck, and the chest resets what, every once in a week? You might go multiple weeks without being able to obtain the aspects you are looking for, which is quite troublesome. The current pools feature so few mage aspects compared to archer or assassin (I haven't counted them but at a first glance there are so many more than mage's)

So here is my solution: Make them not overlap.
Make each raid feature aspects without repeating them. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be too complicated to make either. (Translate this to programmer terms in your head because I got no clue how to explain this in programmer language) Just make a bag with all the aspects, have a raid take randomly aspects until it has a full selection, then remove those aspects from the bag, then another raid takes another list of aspects and those get removed from the bag too, rinse and repeat until all raids have a complete selection of aspects that do not overlap with each other.

This will make the chances of having the aspects you want to grind for appear in at least one of the raid pools much higher. At worst only three mythic aspects will be left out. I have no clue how many could be left out or not in the other two tiers but at least there is only a 1/5 chance that your desired mythic aspect is not on rotation.

For the aspects that remain out of rotation, perhaps it could be made so that they get priority in the next week's bag and they are selected first, guaranteeing that no aspect goes more than a full week or two without being on rotation.

Seriously, three out of four raids have Trapper's mythic aspect on rotation right now. It's kinda dumb.

I can see the problem here too. Since there are 15 mythic aspects but only 12 spots, the loot pool will miss some mythics, and would need a 5th raid to fix. But having the same mythic aspect in multiple lootpools removes space for the mythics others want. as for the non mythic aspects they can be left as is, since there are many more spots, and they can be used together, and most builds want them
