Forgery Revamp!

    Currently, dungeons feel... meh. The bosses looks cool and have unique AI now, but after running them a couple of times, the novelty has worn off. The forgery tried to revamp this by adding the rewards chest with a low chance of a mythic in, but with the new lootruns, raids and annihilation, getting mythic tier items is now much more fun to do any way other than the forgery.
    I suggest a new system which hopefully makes the forgery fun, worthwhile and and actual challenge. Here we go:



    New system:


    Dungeons will now work like the revamped raids/lootruns, there is a reward chest at the end, you earn pulls by completing dungeons (and other things too).


    To begin, speak to the Forgery Syndicate Silverbull guy in the Silverbull HQ.

    Now, when you go to the forgery, there is a new NPC (Silverbull) next to the revamped rewards chest. If you speak to them, a menu will pop up. You can start the forgery run by talking to them with all 9 corrupted dungeon keys in your inventory. The keys will be removed, you will not be able to leave the dungeon portal/reward chest zone, and a countdown will start.

    You will have a timer on the HUD display on the side. By default, you get 15 minutes.

    Completing a dungeon will reward +5 minutes onto the timer and +2 reward pulls.

    You can complete the dungeons in any order.

    Like the mythic (and mythic pity system), you increase the % chance of gaining a mythic by completing more dungeons, caping at 2% when you complete the 9th dungeon. If you fail to get a mythic from the rewards chest, your chance will be increased the same way it currently is for subsequent runs.


    Every time you complete a dungeon, the portal will get blocked off.

    Rewards in the rewards chest change every 7 days.

    If you die, you can still continue, but you lose 3 minutes from the timer and you must restart the dungeon/boss you were doing.

    You can still complete corrupted dungeons normally, but they don’t contribute to any kind of rewards chest.

    You can complete this with a party – but the modifiers are chosen by the party leader for the whole party (1 set of modifiers affects everyone the same)




    Forgery modifiers:

    When speaking to the Forgery Syndicate starting person, you can also select a forgery modifier. These are similar to gambits, but they can make a forgery run easier or harder, depending on your playstyle.

    Some examples of dungeon modifiers:


    · Only gain 3 minutes from completing a dungeon, but gain +1 pulls for each dungeon completion (Time is money)

    · Your HP is capped at 50%, but gain a +0.3% mythic chance if completing all 9 dungeons (Glassy)

    · Half the mythic chance, but double the number of pulls (Double down)

    · Dungeon bosses have 70% HP and only deal 70% damage. Only gain +1 pull for each dungeon completion (Easy Peezy)

    · After completing a dungeon, gain a random effect (+30% melee damage, +30% spell damage, +3 pulls, +0.1% mythic chance, -20% walk speed, +3 spell cost (across all spells)) (Gambler)

    · Every time you complete a dungeon, all spells cost +1 mana, but gain +2 pulls each time also. (Draining)

    · If you die, the forgery run ends. +0.4% mythic chance (Hardcore)

    · Every time you open a loot chest within a dungeon, gain +10% loot bonus, +2% loot quality and – 20 seconds off the timer (Looter)


    (You can choose up to 3 of these if you have 3 modifier slots unlocked)




    New rewards:

    Emerald blocks/Liquid emeralds

    Legendary items (weapons and armours)

    Fabled items (weapons and armours)

    Powders (Tier 4, 5 and 6)

    Forgery exclusive items (Like currently)

    Ingredient pouches (Like in raids)

    Chance for a mythic item (from a pool of roughly 5) (This is not included in the ‘pulls’)

    New forgery exclusive mythics (1 per loot pool) (This is not included in the ‘pulls’)
    I'll talk about these later.




    New levelling system:

    Rank 1: Access to 1 modifier slot (default – you start on rank 1)

    Rank 2: Gain +1 pull for every dungeon you complete

    Rank 3: Receive a daily bonus of +5 pulls and + 0.1% mythic chance for a full run

    Rank 4: Unlock modifier slot 2

    Rank 5: Gain +50% loot bonus and +15% loot quality for the duration of forgery runs

    Rank 6: Increase mythic chance by 0.1% for a full run

    Rank 7: Gain +1 minute for completing a dungeon

    Rank 8: Unlock modifier slot 3

    Rank 9: Every minute left on the timer at the end of a run will be converted into pulls

    Rank 10: The mythic pity system now awards x1.02 rather than x1.01

    Wait, loot bonus and loot quality?! Why would that be a good reward?...




    Reworked dungeons:

    Inside corrupted dungeons, there would be new loot mechanics and rooms.

    Throughout the dungeons the player can find several loot chests (T3 and T4), which can be opened by defeating mobs, completing parkour within new side rooms, or by defeating minibosses. These are entirely optional, and the weigh up is that it’ll cost time to complete a mini challenge and claim the loot, and time is limited in this new design.

    There would be roughly 5 loot chests per dungeon.

    Breakdown of dungeons that require changes:

    DS: Fine as it is. Serves as a simple layout for the first dungeon.

    IP: Also fine as it is.

    TS: Fine as it is.

    UC: Too much waiting around (especially now that time will be a limiting factor). The 3 timer sections at the start will be replaced by a wave survival section (similar to world events – ending with a mini boss)

    The boat section will also move faster, but the boat can be stopped by enemy blockades at 2 points. You destroy the blockades by attacking them. (You can get boarded whilst you’re stopped at blockades too).

    SST: Fine as it is.

    IB: The whole dungeon needs a huge rework from the ground up in my opinion, it is slow and grindy and boring as hell currently. I mean, look at it: grind 10 very spread out mobs; ICE PARKOUR WTF; grind a butt-tonne of mobs (ooh fun); invisible maze where you get reset if you fall off so basically hold shift and hope that you have incredible walk speed or welcome to the next 2 minutes of your boring life eww; get artificially stopped by walls and enjoy the boring wait for them to disappear (or more realistically /class, like literally every single person does); grind more mobs so that you can grind minibosses; decent final boss. Yeah, I despise this dungeon, sorry to rant, but I desperately hope every update brings a rework to it and it never does ☹

    UR: Fine as it is.

    GG: Fine as it is.

    FF: The squishy plates section needs to be reworked – as it is it’s a softlock for slow builds. Can’t think of anything else, I’ve not run this dungeon too much.



    Finally, the forgery-unique mythics. This is a part where I don't really know what to suggest if I'm honest.
    Raids have mythic tomes and aspects.
    Lootruns have shiny mythics and corkian simulators/insulators.
    Annihilation has 5 unique weapons.
    Maybe, new high level boots (assuming this came out with an update like Fruma with a higher level cap), or single element boots? Or neutral mythic boots? Or rainbow mythic boots? I don't know to be honest, but I think it's important for content like this to have unique mythics to encourage players to stick with it, much alike the examples I listed above.

    I have a kneejerk negative reaction to making all endgame content basically alt-lootrunning, but I do understand that making everything s Silverbull Syndicate is definitely the direction CT is going, and this is pretty smart ngl.

    You could have the unlocks tied to chain pieces or something instead of a silverbull level where you give them to some guy at the forgery and then you can pick an upgrade or something.
    forgery has a lot of potential to be like a roguelite imo

    I first drafted this idea months ago and it wasn't until I saw that raids are Silverbull that I changed it to fit that.

    Same as what Elysium and Deus said above, but this definitely has a solid framework for a Forgery rework. Perhaps the scrapped dungeon modifiers could return for specific dungeons as well, such as the Water is Lava for CGG. Granted, dungeon-specific modifiers wouldn't give as many pulls as it's just for one dungeon, nor do I think they should also take up the same slots as universal dungeon modifiers.

    Also I find if funny how the devs made systems like raids and lootrunning to be an image of forgery (do challenges to get end chest) but forgery is forgotten. Honestly if forgery dungeons weren’t just worse versions of real dungeons and the rewards were better forgery could be fun

    Can I get some opinions on exclusive mythics?

    Do people think a new 10 set of high level boots would be good or bad? Or neutral/rainbow boots? Or something else entirely?

    Set up a poll, maybe include the question of exclusive mythics. Personally I like the idea, but too many sources for unique mythics might be annoying for people to get. It'd at the very least make it worth doing though.

    I think there should be a reward of normal mythic items still, because right now the only system in the game to get mythics is lootrunning, and maybe it should be better for mythics, but there should be more than one way to get good rare items like that.

    add mythic boots with terrible stats, where you deal no damage, have 1 health, cant cast spells, move 1 block per second

    This suggestion would make normal mythics obtainable, it's my bad if I didn't make that clear enough. You'd get a mythic pull based on your mythic pull % and it would reward you a mythic from a pool of regular mythics, but there would also be a new exclusive mythic added to the pool too, from a new range of a few exclusive mythics.
