Game Mechanics Make Annihilation happen multiple times but only give rewards once

    That is the entire suggestion. Seems pretty simple huh? Still, let me elaborate.

    • The main advantage of this is obviously that it would mean everyone (or rather, almost everyone and definitely way more people) actually get to do Annihilation once it doesnt happen as often as currently does.
    • Additionally it would reduce server strain MASSIVELY, as players would be way less condensed into the one timeslot (lets say if you do 3 Annies its 50% of actual max amount for the one with highest attendance for the US one). This would, for example and if nothing else, allow to reduce player caps to half meaning each server lags less even if no other changes are made. The way Annihilation currently lags out servers is also honestly just disrespectful to people who take time in their day to do this exciting new Event (yayyy!!!) only to get kicked, have the server crash or freeze and whatever else. (Also means its basically unplayable for Hardcore or Hunted Players since they could always just die lol, so bonus disrespect to them).
    • Also, the way Annie currently works means that you get absolutely MASSIVE rewards with potential for one of five mythics which are by far the rarest and most expensive in the game (especially since longer delay between annies means less created compared to rn)
    • This heavily incentivizes people to do Annihilation, at the ONE time it happens. Now, some of you might be able to imagine why this is bad, but let me spell it out for you: People are going to skip sleep, people are going to skip school, kids will lie to their parents and people will miss opportunities and have to decline to join others in activities if they want to do Annilation, which they do, as explained above. Not everyone is going to do that but some, and I would argue thats too many, people will.
    "But if its that simple why havent the devs already done that?"
    Well, I dont know much more than you. But one thing I do. During Hero Beta, Salted (Owner) and if i recall correctly also a Content Team Member (though i can't check because they made those channels completely inaccessible) argued that implementing this system of doing multiple annies on the day it happens but only allowing you to get rewards or do one would give people with alts an unfair advantage. My first response to that is "Ok, so what?", because the advantages I listed already heavily outweigh that for me. But let me go a bit more in depth on that.
    • The "fear" is that someone with three Accounts could, for example, do Annihilation three times if there were three timeslots. Which seems unfair, doesnt it? But the direct counterpoint to this is that more people with just one account whod be entirely unable to do Annie otherwise also get to do it, plus the amount of people using Alts being really small to begin with.
    • Additionally, there currently is an issue where some servers have (heavily) delayed Annihilation spawns in one wave allowing some people to do one Annihilation and swap to that server to do another. This would just be solved if the suggestion was implemented, as they'd have already claimed rewards for that wave! (Also this method works way better for champ users or moderators because they have more/unlimited slots so that would also remove this major unfair abuse of perks)
    • And the use of Alts would, I think, also not be as high as expected for the different waves, as you are already able to comfortably take out a 10 player Annihilation with 3 or maybe 4 players meaning you can take 6 to 7 Alts in there with you. And if people do that (they will, idk if they do alr), they'll have less Alts available to use for later waves. Some people would of course still get unfair advatages but thats gonna happen anyway with every piece of content, just not always through alt abuse.

    Either to add more points or to elaborate my current points (I did not write out everything from my head, this post would be like 5-10x as long if I did).

    No, like seriously, do I? idk i tried not to but I feel like the way this is written could seem a bit annoyed/triggered? (Honestly I'm not too good at like doing the nicest sounding language in general either)

    I agree with this. I think it’s way more important to ensure that most people have the opportunity to fight Annie at all than it is to prevent a few people from potentially fighting her more often than intended.

    Exactly my thoughts. I hate having to show up an hour in advance just to make sure i can join a world.

    This would reduce the amount of people that stay at 2 am to do annie for sure. It would also promote scheduling with friends/guild members to complete the world event, and make high level players more inclined to help weaker players with annihilation (as carrying 9 newbies and soloing a 10 player annihilation is true endgame content, you can even do it with other strong players to have a better chance), and since you get 7 days to complete annihilation before the reward reset (think of it as weekly missions for the reset timer, or as lr pools, or as literally any endgame content), you can do other things and not worry about annihilation.

    This would also reduce the lag it creates, which is the main issue in all of wynncraft imo
