World events are currently one of the least immersive systems in the game. The least immersive part of world events is the timer and the waiting, but I will get to that part later.

    My Fix:
In world events, you get that annoying wave timer that says "wave in x seconds". This is completely unnecessary. What if just a few seconds before the next wave would spawn, just a few exclamation marks !!!
could appear in your screen. It is a small change, but that wave timer just takes the soul out of the experience.

And the mobs just appear just like that? Now, sure, I don't see why the CT would randomly think of adding this, but the jankyness of 20 mobs spawning could be fixed by adding particles around where they spawn right before they do. Make it seem natural. Some mobs could event crawl out of the ground or come rushing from around the trees. Another simple yet effective fix.

Hey anyone who will listen lol, want to go above and beyond on the immersive side? Continue reading!
So my next suggestion for world events could require a complete rework of how they spawn. Firstly, for this to work well, more events need to be active at once, because they are going to require exploring the world to find.

Picture this: You are walking through Nivla Woods, and you see a spider jumping around and making noise, upon approaching the spider, it scuttles away, you chase it, and follow it to a world event there which spawns when you get there. Or maybe you are walking around Thesead, or the mesa, and you see a group of bandits carrying a tray of gold away, you follow them to their hideout and a world event spawns. Maybe eagles appear flying above the eagle world event. Maybe a statue that wasn't there before, or a corruption spike that only appears if there is a world event near it.

Now, for this to work, world events should be more common then not, but there is no waiting involved. This system might need a quest to introduce, but is MUCH more natural than tracking it in your book, going there and waiting out the timer before you can fight a bunch of mobs.

This is because it uses a very similar system to lootrun challenges.
Also it is very necessary for challenges where the grace period between waves is low enough they can begin to stack.

CT can't alter how they function in the ways you describe. This is something that a developer would have to do.

This is cool in concept, but this just doesn't work in practice as multiplayer content. This takes it and makes it singleplayer, as the only way to then get into a party is to message people to come over because you saw a trigger for a world event.
What you're describing here is basically just the random occurrences around the map. This kinda stuff already exists. The Detlas ambush, the unified gnome, the encounter with the guy who burns to death in cotl for some reason.

Ultimately a no from me. It's no less immersive than lootruns. While it's a neat idea if you just take the concepts, it just would not work with how we want world events to be.

    Oke :/

I do think there should be a grace period, I just never thought that the wave count down would be visually necessary, and that it kind of brought the experience down. The amount of grace time would be the same, but with a more natural approach.

World events specifically are part of the game that maybe should fit in well unlike lootrunning, which is more strategic, could use at least some attention to give a better experience

Common Deusphage W, i think world events were kinda badly implemented, but the IMMERSIVENESS of all things, is NOT the problem. Why would we remove the things that help us figure stuff out.

World Encounters (detlas rat, tree island druid) fill the niche that World Events dont.

Also deus i dont think the Unified Gnome *is* a World Encounter, any more than the Matroshka Idol is, because they can be done multiple times per class unlike true Encounters like the Mysterious Mansion

i don't really mind this in terms of immersiveness, all wynncraft mobs just appear out of nowhere, except for a few bosses.

I personally do want to have some like, random occurrences in the vein of what you described though. Stuff like weather.
