How to Rewrite Tower of Ascension

Here's some examples of the top of my head:
Archetype abilities, new ones, tweaks to ones, etc
New items that fulfill certain niches (in the vein of corkians amplifiers)
Additions to stuff like lootruns or dungeons (say, a suggestion to make it so lootruns tell you where the beacon is at)
Adding more world events to areas that need them (sky islands, ocean)
Adding more ambient mobs (I'll gladly take suggestions for some more critters that could potentially populate the world)

Stuff that doesn't work is things like
Adding a new class
Adding a new region to the map
Adding a new quest

 

This seems like things you've arbitrarily picked yourself as "not working" because they aren't the kind of suggestions you like to see, especially since at least one of these has been added before: "A new region."
You don't know this I guess, but Corkus was originally a suggestion, and, as you should know, was added to the game.

Don't get me wrong, the ones you listed are definitely less likely to be added, and for sure have less value overall, but to suggest that people shouldn't make these suggestions is just, kinda wrong I think.
I would also add that there's a lot of value in suggestions that won't be added anyways, as they often let you know how interested the general player-base is with certain ideas, like how excited players are for a new region, or how much players want a quest in a certain place, level or tone.

Even if you don't agree with that second statement, I would generally suggest you change your mindset with suggestions, and instead of thinking of them as something that will strictly get added to the game or not, try and find whatever value in a suggestion that you can, even if you would never add it. (Instead of telling people to not make suggestions you won't use.)

 

I like to see ideas for new classes. There's a reason I point people towards the 'your work' section, because ideas on that stuff can be super interesting to read.

I do know this, and it was a one time thing a while ago. We aren't going to add new regions based off of suggestions in the future, it simply takes too much time and players don't have the same understanding of the lore, story, and game progression that those working on the game do.

They won't get added. It's not that they're "less likely".

The reason I will often comment that stuff is not going to get accepted is for two reasons; to discourage drowning out other suggestions with ones that are guaranteed to be ignored, and because previously there was an issue with players bumping a post and/or expecting their suggestion to be added, when in reality their suggestion wasn't even viewed because new classes, regions, and the such just aren't considered

 

You never know what ideas can make it into the game based on the category of idea. People get inspired, add their own ideas and something different can emerge. Discouraging stuff in general suggestions is not the best idea.

Corkus may have been an exeption, but it's the exeption that proves the rule.

Furthermore the main point of the forums is to get the community to interact, have fun & stay alive and well. Policing around when not needed does not help.

So yea, I disagree.

 

I would are if this wasn't General Suggestions and this didn't have specific posting guidelines people are meant to follow.

This isn't the channel for everybody to go 'oh wow that's such a cool idea!', this is the chopping block-- the cutting room. Suggestions you make are meant to be ideas for the game, not a piece of art to be praised. If you post it here, it's going to get dissected for its flaws if it doesn't work, regardless of if it's me, another CT, or a player
