Game Mechanics Riftwalker rework + Thunderstorm change

Riftwalker is the mage archetype that I believe needs the most changes. Right now
1. it plays like 1.20 mage (boring)
2. you don't really feel like a time mage
My rework aims to solve both of these problems, you can view it by pasting the following text into the white text box at https://punscake.github.io/wynnability/ and clicking the blue load button next to it.

I also changed thunderstorm to be the necessary spell upgrade before the movement spell, as all other classes have a damage ability at that spot except mage. Shooting star's faster meteor should be merged to default meteor.

This is pretty much a full rework; Winded is gone, temporal essence is gained instead that will allow you to use special abilities along with passive buffs.

i think it would be a bit annoying to have to unlock a 2 cost node before you even get all of your spells

I don't agree with every Mage having a slower Meteor and having Lightning Strikes be on the main path.

Temporal Essence sounds very fun, but I'd make it cast secondary Main Attacks at an interval instead of making the Main Attack "faster" because of how the Attack Speed Tier system works in Wynncraft.

 

For the thunderstorm moving, I just thought it would synchronize more with the other classes that add a damage aspect to the first spell (heart shatter, totemic smash, double bash/spin) especially since thunderstorm is useful for non-lightbenders and lightbenders don’t benefit from shooting star anyways

 

Arcanist has WAY more problems than Riftwalker.
One of your points is that Riftwalker is too similar to pre 2.0 mage. In response to this, I'd say "THAT'S THE POINT"
It's supposed to be similar. You can't just completely get rid of a certain playstyle.

Thunderstorm is optional because of Archetype hybridizing, and Winded is a unique mechanic that makes it stand out from every other Archetype. The only thing that resembles it is Discombobulated, which is just a damage increase. Winded is a Damage increase + a weakness that inflicts mobs.

If you wanted a archetype with passive buffs, then just play Lightbender, or better yet, the buff heavy Paladin on Warrior.

Being similar to pre 2.0 mage is the point of Riftwalker, because pre 2.0 mage was already fun. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
