World Petition to bring back Le big fishe

Back in the 2.0 beta, the mini boss in galleons graveyard was a big fish. Its name? LE BIG FISHE! It was so hype to get chased by LE BIG FISHE! But then they changed to “The pirranah” And the corrupted version is “the corrupted piranha” so unoriginal. Please revive le big fishe. It’s much more exciting to fight le big fish than “the piranha.

It was. I might be at fault for it being called The Piranha now though, since I did a feedback thread back then where I said "yo listen, I know you all are trying to be funny but this sat with me in the same manner as when corporate ads on TV include outdated memes in their advertising campaigns"

Yes please bring it back fr. It was funny and “The Piranha” is so uncreative. Wynncraft having funny stuff like that doesn’t do any harm and only adds to the charm of it. I mean, in that video above you saw how DuoFace reacted to it, he wasn’t like “omg what an outdated meme this is so cringe im quitting”, he laughed and probably had more fun during that sequence because of it. If it was just “the piranha” when he made the video, he probably would have said something like “Is it gonna chase me… yep it’s gonna chase me” and then it would have gone on as normal. But instead, he laughed about it and it made the video and dungeon itself more fun. So I think it should return.

 

Proposal: In Corrupted Dungeons, stuff should have sillier names, since those don't seem to really be canon anyway.

For instance, instead of The Piranha, it is Le Big Fishe or Fat Shark or something.

 

I'm strongly against this. While the piranha is a pretty generic name, they could always do something like "Dunkleosteus" or "Ravenous Coelacanth". But something like "Le Big Fishe" is devastating to the tonal consistency of a game that's trying to establish itself as something more serious. I don't get why people complain so much about the texture pack being like fortnite or tiktok when something like this is far, far worse IMO.

That being said, a possible compromise to put Le Big Fishe in shattered minds.

I feel like Wynn can have silly stuff like this while still being tonally consistent. It doesn't ruin the lore to have Le Big Fishe, it's just a funny little thing. And Wynn has always had a silly side to it, I've never felt like it was trying to be more serious or anything like that; it's always been a whimsical fantasy world, and it does have darker tones to it in some places (*cough* kander forest *cough*) but it balances that out with silly stuff like Le Big Fishe. It's not harmful to the lore, it doesn't make the game worse, it only serves as a silly little thing that adds to Wynncraft's charm. A game doesn't have to be super serious to be good, and Wynncraft proves that with stuff like this.

 

I definitely understand where you're coming from; I actually do think that having moments of levity can be really important in a more serious piece of media. But I think the piranha sequence, and even galleon's graveyard as a whole, accomplishes it as is. Calling the piranha "le big fishe" is just a level too far, however, since it's just blatantly inserting a meme into the game. There isn't even anything meta or wynncraft-related about it like some of the humor in shattered minds. Something like le big fishe tries to shift the level of seriousness too much to one side in my opinion.

 

That's a fair point yea. Maybe there's a good in-between that isn't blatantly a meme but also isn't as generic as "The Piranha", though I don't know what that would be lol

 

If they made the piranha look super derpy I would agree with you, although it looks menacing whilst bearing an uplifting name that brings questions and thoughts to the players mind. Le big fishe is just enough where it isn’t super meme worthy, but it is fun each time le big fishe is mentioned

 

I completely agree it should come back, best creative decision anyone in this server has ever made.

bump for le big fishe! nothing wrong with having occassional silly stuff in-game imo. even if it's not perfect, it's way better than "the piranha" which is really generic
