Would be nice if you bumped Charon too

(But like, with actual discussion rather than a random bump I gave so much content idk why that thread was left dead)

I'm just going to come back to this thread to ask something from anyone who has seen the post

How comprehensible are the simplified text? I mostly wrote the instructions to account for me specifically, since my brain has trouble getting past instructions and text that are in the length of regular sentences, sometimes taking up to several minutes just for me to comprehend a ten-word line. This format is slightly easier for me to read, but I'm afraid that the majority of people here might have a hard time with a shorter, color-coded and grammar-deficit version of the raid instructions. What are your thoughts?

P.S. I am aware that some of the images have failed I'll try to replace them with permanent ones whenever I remember to

Links became dead because of Discord images being wack so I requested for a reopen so I could replace them

Have fun looking at raid stuff (that may actually have a chance of appearing in-game soon probably) new people

I really like this idea, but i feel like you would feel like you are under pressure and skip the room anyways if your whole party is waiting for you to finish reading them. I could see 2 options for this:
    1. Put the spawns for the challenge into an adjacent room the players can just walk out of, so you don‘t get distracted as much, but this would result in some really awkward spawning spots since you need a wall to hide the room behind and if it is too open people will just rush past the instructions.
    2. Make players invisible while in the instructions room to remove the feeling of pressure when everyone else is done. This could however be very annoying for party members since they will not know whether you are still reading the instructions or just trolling (and also don‘t know who it is)

All in all I think the second option would be better since it completely removes pressure. In order to prevent trolling a system could be introduced where every player gets their soul points (they have no purpose in there) replaced with an item that allows them to vote whenever they are done, teleporting the players into the challenge once 3 players (one less than there are in the raid if the raid was entered with more or less players) have voted. Since a new player would then be skipped over by 3 experienced people the person who has not voted yet should give a popup asking them whether they want to continue reading or are done. If they click they are done, or wait for more than 5 seconds, the challenge starts. If they click they want to continue reading a timer starts (one minute should be enough, not stated in game it started), teleporting the party into the challenge once it is up. Of course the reading member would still have the option to vote when they are done, immediately starting the challenge.

This is probably not perfect, but i feel like it would give new players a chance to understand everything without pressure, sweaty people the ability to immediately skip the room by voting and prevent trolling by limiting the time in there to one minute once all but one people are done.

PLEASE improve those raid introductions, their current state is awful

It’s still better than not giving them time at all

What difference does this make compared to my structure of the rooms

I can assure you that this does not remove much pressure. People’s subconscious awareness of other players being in their party does not just disappear just because they don’t see them in the same room as they are

Also the “trolling” situation can be said the same for the buff rooms, which currently do actually exist in-game. How exactly is this any different?

So what you’re telling me is that you want to replace a slot in the commonly-used hotbar with an extremely niche button that is utilized specifically in the context of the player being in an instructions room during raids and absolutely nowhere else in the entire game

Too convoluted for a mechanic that can otherwise just be solved by using the buff room’s solution. The challenge starts when all four players stand towards the exit.

Sorry for the harshness but your suggestions have a bit too many flaws in them, including the weird placement of the mechanics along with needlessly complex solutions to the problems. I get that an AFK player is a genuine issue but at that point it’s less of a problem with the rooms and more of an underlying thing that Wynncraft has to deal with when it comes to any situation that relies on all members in a party being not-AFK. Actual intentional trolling isn’t as prominent of an event as you think it is when everyone’s Tol Runes are on the line.

I said it is probably not really good anyways

The main difference would be not seeing the other players so maybe one would feel less badly when doing a little trolling since the others can't annoy them (they don‘t know who they are)

Sorry, i didn‘t word that really well, i meant they only get replaced in this room since they have no purpose in there, everywhere else the soul points would be normal

This is kind of as it is now and will work as long as the ability to not see other players doesn‘t encourage trolling, but i guess whether it does would only be found out if it was implemented and people give feedback about it

I‘m used to that, both people being a little harsh and also my suggestions not being perfect…

    Good point
So the solution for trolling would be to increase the cost to enter the raid? (i‘m joking, it is fine as it is)

I gotta be honest, I’ve ran at least a hundred or two raids, perhaps even more
I do not recall a single instance where someone intentionally halts the whole team by like, purposefully standing away from the exit

If it does happen it’s usually lag or they had a phone call or smth reasonable

One thing I'd like to be implemented is if you got a unique role the game should emphasis that and give the instructions again to you in chat. First time I was playing TNA using shaman and accidentally got the berserker berry because I like to place totem asap when I get to new rooms. For the entire duration I was clueless on what I was suppose to do.

I think just the addition of visuals and a clear explanation would be very helpful. I, myself, have been on the end of botching whole raids due to my ignorance (I accidentally picked up the Light Crystal in a recent NoL and didn't realise for several rounds of combat). The instructions don't need to be this comprehensive, but this does suggest a very clear set of instructions that would work very well, especially for new players.

I agree with the earlier thoughts that this should be in the buff room. It feels like it fits best there, and it gives players indication of which challenge is next, which might be useful if you're a pro who knows which buffs are best for which challenges.
    ________________________________
You know what? It is really, really, utterly idiotic that the raid won't warn you if you get the room's special role. That would be fantastic for noobs. Maybe even have a double-click trigger for the role. Perhaps, for maximal security, have it be a right-left doubleclick?
